Take That concert on Thursday - Will it go ahead?

I've been really looking forward to this but it's giving me such anxiety now. I spent a lot of money so don't want to just not go and forfeit the money. Would they cancel it? It can't be safe to have thousands of people there in such intense heat?

Does anyone want a FREE ticket to this? Probably asking in the wrong place 😅One of my tickets hasn't sold and it's just going to waste. I mean if you're OK to brave the heat, unlike me.

I 100% would if I was in London! Saw it in Manchester last weekend. Superb. Go and take a fan.

What a kind offer Smile

It’s not something I’m able to take up but I do love a lot of Take That’s music, and I hope someone on here can benefit.

I have a concert in London on Friday and I’m considering not attending. TBF I’m not keen on concerts but the ticket was a gift.

Hi all, commenting again to say that although the stadium is open air, once you get to early evening you are shaded from the sun because as the sun goes down it’s below the top of the sides, if that makes sense. And heat rises out of the open roof.

I am going tonight, I live very locally. The sun is out and hot, but there is also a lovely breeze blowing cooling the air.

p.s. For those travelling in on public transport:
The Elizabeth line direct to Stratford has air conditioning.
The district line also air conditioned - change at Mile End and go one more stop on the (hot) central line.
Westfield shopping centre next door to the stadium has air conditioning.
The Olympic park around the stadium has lots of shade from trees etc.

My daughter was at Harry Tuesday - she was couple rows back and security were filling water bottles and giving out ice. She had Suncream but saw a lot of burnt people. She said pavement was too hot to sit in while queueing but they seem to have moved people inside under shade earlier than she expected.

You are obviously well known for your sharp wit and intelligence, I however am well known for my sarcasm

I think it’s madness going ahead with the concert it’s putting people at risk, I’m going but heading up there late.

Have you ever heard of personal responsibility? While it is going ahead, if you think it’s madness and putting people at risk why are you going? You can simply choose not to.

Do you know anyone else locally who wants to go?

@fernnnSorry, no. I struggled to persuade anyone to come along with me when I bought the tickets. Not many friends share my take that enthusiasm!

fernnn · Yesterday 14:40

Ah I see. I hope you have a good time!

I'd have snatched your hand off, politely, and gone twice but I don't arrive in London until the morning.

That's me and everyone I like, hence 9 gigs in June/July solo, but I still love all of them and always have the best time.

It's sold now!

What a great night it was. It was very warm up the top as we didn't have the benefit of the nice breeze, but avoiding alcohol, taking a fan and drinking lots of water did the trick. Had a wonderful time.
