Are we allowed to pray for Trump to be struck by lightning?

We've had three lightning strikes in our small town of a population of 22,000. All on trees that need to come down 😞

Why does it not work with what you actually wish for?

The Pope shouldn’t comment on theology? Did I understand that correctly?

I think JD Vance's exact words were, "I think it's very, very important for the Pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology".

Which are no better.

He said that, indeed.
I think ( hope) that he meant politics, but he got confused.

As an aside, DH saw the Pope the other day. He was at a work conference in Barcelona and saw him driving past the building they were in.

Oh, what a surprise!
Happy that the attacks got cancelled- hope that the market profits are big and juicy
Happy to hear the "ceasefire" is still going
Happy to hear about the peace deal
That Israel has not heard of, but of course will follow, to the letter.
And has Iran heard of the plan they have approved?
And the neighbouring countries, have they?
It is going "really well". It will be sorted in less than 2 weeks. " I can see that now..."
I think restraining the Pope on matters of theology may have helped here.
And the bigly World Cup. All the parties have signed the peace deal because they wanted to watch the matches and the fight in front of the White House....
It will be the greatest the world has ever seen. The ME peace dealers will be the first to be invited to the WH ballroom and will present Trump with a nobel prize and a lego figurine of himself.

TACO Thursday? Exhausting.

From Guardian:
Trump cancels tonight's 'scheduled strikes and bombings' on Iran
Donald Trump has posted on Truth Social that he has “cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening.”
“Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I have, as President of the United States of America, cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening,” Trump wrote.
He continued “Discussions and final points have been, in both concept and great detail, approved by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others. The Naval Blockade will remain in full force and effect until this Transaction is finalized — Time and place of the signing to be announced shortly

And surprise, surprise.

An Israeli official tells N12 they know of no deal and are puzzled by Trump's claim that Iran's leadership approved one.
^^
A lot of words to say he’s lying again.

Well done, I think you've covered everything!

Apparently the red cherry picker waiting outside the Kennedy Centre will be in action at... wait for it ..... 3am according to a security guard. <taps nose>

Look at the bright side. It may be done by tomorrow morning and nobody has to look at it again.
I hope it leaves no marks in the building.

🤣🤣🤣 spot on

Didn't Trump throw pretty much all of their ammo at Iran already. Threats is about all he has left, so the backtracking is not a surprise.

Incidentally, how does a country with no army, airforce or navy left, shoot down a plane?

I can have an armchair go at that :-)

Apparently 48 Tomahawk missiles for fired yesterday. An Arleigh Burke destroyer can carry 56 missiles. I think they have 4 or 5 of these destroyers in the area, plus subs that can also launch the missiles. The US have the ability to keep firing Tomahawks at that rate for maybe 5 days or so. After that the ships need to go to a port to be replenished. Assuming the ships were full.

However, US production of Tomahawks are about 100 per year. Production to be ramped up to 1000 per year over the next few years.

So he just fired half a years production in that attack. Worldwide stockpile is usually about 1000. But that has been massively reduced. And there are minimum stocks required.

So it looks to me, from my armchair, that his ceasefire was to re-arm and he just used all the missiles that have replaced what he already used.

Interesting that the aircraft bomb fragments were from small bombs. That says to me they are taking minimal risk to their planes. Send them in light than fast rather than fully loaded to cause max damage. The US has massive stockpiles of conventional bombs, but they used smaller ones. My speculation.

He is terrified, as a PP said, of planes being downed and pilots captured.
