"What ? I thought we were supposed to clean it, not remove it. Well that's my guys gone for the weekend. We'll have to come back and finish it next weekend. Weather depending."

Workers Doozers gone, tarps in place. Wonder if they're waiting on specialist stonemasons to finish up the job. There was a 12 noon deadline, but I suppose that was only for the actual removal, not necessarily the 'cleanup'. I will be furious if we're left with a bunch of holes in that beautiful marble facade.

FWIW, many locales require tarps on scaffolding (CA does). It's to keep debris from falling on Doozers and passersby below. So there may not be anything nefarious about the tarps. Or maybe it's there to save Scrotus' delicate sensibilities from this 'desecration'.

I am wondering if because the court did not actually state that the Kennedy name had to be visible (just that the Trump name be not) there is a possibility that another court order is now needed to remove the tarpaulin ?

Donald is due to turn up at the G7 summit in France on Monday so I wouldn't be surprised if they waited until he was busy upsetting the other 6 countries and creating new bigly headlines before they remove the tarp.

I guess that would depend on why the tarps are there. If it's due to 'health and safety' regs then I'd say no. It would just indicate to me that either the work isn't finished or that the scaffold removal crew either hasn't been scheduled or has been scheduled for a later time.

If it's due to an order that specifies that tarps must be put in place for the removal of the letters to stop people gloating then I guess it would depend on the wording in the order. It was a 94 page decision and I can't seem to find it anywhere it isn't paywalled for me.

ETA Just had a thought, I wonder if they're going to wait until after dark to remove the tarps, just like the work to remove was carried out 'under the cover of darkness'. After all, the work is being carried out by Scrotus' hand-picked BoD.

Oh, interesting. i saw the quartet of Macron, Zelenskyy, Merz and our own dear Starmer outside no !0 on the news earlier and thought how quite lovely the first two are and how much I wish, sometimes, I was from the continent of Europe and not this little UK place stuck between the EU and the US.
