Just for fun so no sarcasm or nastiness please .
My friend and I went to see a West End musical this week . I was really looking forward to it . Great reviews . Celebrity cameos . Camp and fun . Seemed right up our street .
We both hated it . We were turning to each other with puzzled looks and raised eyebrows (we've known each other forever and have very similar tastes so no words needed) .
The audience seemed off their tits to be honest . Screeching at every unsubtle innuendo . Shouting responses to the actors . It was like a really bad hen do .
We left at the interval .
My point is that everyone else seemed to be having a great time . The staff who opened the doors to allow us to leave at the interval were incredulous . I quote : "Are you not enjoying it ?!"
Well no , we weren't . We thought it was shit .
This is a show that is up for lots of awards and has had so many positive reviews .

Long art painted nails
Laminated eyebrows
Fake stuck on eyelashes

Breaking Bad. Tried several times to get into it. Hated all the characters, didn't find the script clever, everyone yelling at each other furiously all the time. My DH feels the same as me, but everyone looks at me slack jawed in shock when I say I thought it was shit.

Star Wars
anime and manga
superhero movies
pickles
The Office
sushi (it’s basically bait and belongs on a hook)
Twilight
any of the shades of grey books
all white lights on Christmas trees
people who are proud that they don’t read books.

Coffeebeforework · 01/06/2026 06:28

Trifle, iced coffee, olives and asparagus.

The colour grey. Why it has been so popular is a mystery to me, it’s the colour of the roads, skies on a miserable day and battleships, absolutely horrid.

I’m with you on this.
There’s enough grey in the world without bringing it into your hime.

I didn’t enjoy Wicked in the theatre, but was surprised to find I did enjoy the movies.

It’s stylish, donchaknow?!

Mrs Brown's Boys - Absolute drivel or Utter Shite - you choose. As offensive as the worst of the 1960's sitcoms. BBC, we're on the breadline but would still happily pay an extra £10 on our tv licence if you were to remove it from the schedules and iPlayer completely.
Queen - after their first album they degraded into pure pomp and grandiosity. I could barely watch TOTP when the pretentious Boho Rhapsody got to no.1.
Ru Paul's Drag Race - Puerile trash
Most reality tv, but funnily enough I don't mind anything that encourages learning or improving skills such as The Sewing Bee, Strictly or Bake off (but can only take that smarmy Paul H in small doses).

You’ve reminded me, Christmas tree lights that flash on and off. Why anyone wants that headache inducing option on I just don’t know.

Spa Days
Bottomless brunch
Musicals
Strictly Come Dancing
Big cities

I have just realised I’m miserable and I’m ok with that if I don’t have to do these things!

Perthgirl · 01/06/2026 10:16

Barbie the move
Olives

With you on the autism and musicals 🤣. I just can’t wrap my head around people going about their day then someone bursts into song and everyone magically knows all the words and the dance routine 🤣.

Daughter (adult) is autistic and obsessed with musicals - usually will be the same one on repeat for a few weeks.

Recently the show on repeat was Starlight Express, I went to see it with her - people were obsessed with it and so many fans were in amazing cosplay that it was hard to tell at stage door who was an actor and who was a fan! I thought it was “meh”. Wouldn’t say I hated it but I wouldn’t want to see it again, even by musicals standards the plot was thinner than a one-ply tissue.

jellyfish798 · 01/06/2026 10:28

This year's Eurovision winner - actually most of it was garbage this year and made me wonder if it always has been 😆

U2
The Smiths
Dumplings or any 'wet' food like ravioli 🤮
Gnocchi
The Chase
Big parties
Work dos
Video calls
Britain's Got Talent
This has been cathartic 😆

@BernieBarks
Black shoes, white trousers.
Fringing on handbags.
Dresses/skirts designed longer at the back and short at the front.

Goodness, yes. The awfulness of asymmetric hemlines. I tried on a pair of culotte shorts in a charity shop on Saturday. Lovely colours, and a perfect fit. I was smitten with them, until it became obvious they were cut at a diagonal and one leg was longer than the other. I was gutted to have to return them to the rail as they were just what i would wear in every other respect.

wishingonastar101 · 01/06/2026 10:51

Ice in drinks
deep crust pizza
Wicked

I need to know the show first. We need context to judge.

Any TV show with the word celebrity in it
Any soap
Any cookery programmes
Any reality show
Strictly.....I could go on. 90% of TV is brainless dross.

That is a great comparison 🤣

I also enjoyed the first film, such a feast for the eyes! Haven’t seen the second, the reviews weren’t great.
