Have you ever hated something that seems very popular with everyone else ?

Just for fun so no sarcasm or nastiness please .
My friend and I went to see a West End musical this week . I was really looking forward to it . Great reviews . Celebrity cameos . Camp and fun . Seemed right up our street .
We both hated it . We were turning to each other with puzzled looks and raised eyebrows (we've known each other forever and have very similar tastes so no words needed) .
The audience seemed off their tits to be honest . Screeching at every unsubtle innuendo . Shouting responses to the actors . It was like a really bad hen do .
We left at the interval .
My point is that everyone else seemed to be having a great time . The staff who opened the doors to allow us to leave at the interval were incredulous . I quote : "Are you not enjoying it ?!"
Well no , we weren't . We thought it was shit .
This is a show that is up for lots of awards and has had so many positive reviews .
Have you ever hated something that everyone else seemed to love ?

Strawberries. They are just odd, seeds on the outside, the smell and they get into so many things from a sauce on a steak to shampoo.

Football.

Hot weather.

All those fancy coffees with loads of cream and sugar and with fancy names.

Just give me a black coffee.

Anything sung by Lewis Capaldi. He’s a great human being but I just can’t stand his wailing!

Thebinisrightthere · 31/05/2026 09:52

The first half of Sinners. Made no sense to me. Just a load of people talking too much & too fast. 2nd half was brilliant in contrast!

Also Cats the stage show. The sound was terrible so I couldn't make out what they were singing so obviously I had no clue what was going on. Just seemed like a load of people dressed as cats prancing around. I loved Memory though

Wearing trousers/jeans. I love my dresses.

Just thought of another one (don't know if it's been mentioned previously) Dubaii chocolate. Overpriced nonsense like eating chocolate coated chipboard.

BunnyLake · 31/05/2026 12:37

Alcohol and getting drunk. I’m not teetotal (rarely drink but will have a Bailey’s at Christmas and maybe a zero alcohol beer in the Summer). I don’t get the appeal of getting drunk at all (the couple of times in my life were just horrible). Wine really isn’t nice.

Beyonce 😬

I find her voice very nasal-y and I find she ends up screeching on a lot of her music which goes through me. I also think she's a really awkward performer.

Aside from that, I actually think her songs are pretty average and I can't stand her faux feminism nonsense.

Sorry.

Going back abit, but Fifty Shades of Grey.
All my female colleagues were obsessed.
Brings back memories of looong, boring days at that job.

Jackie Collins did it first - and a million times better.

Swimming in anything other than a nice clean swimming pool. The thought of swimming in a pond or river makes me feel ill. All those creatures and beasties you’d be sharing it with. 🤮

The thing with 50 shades (the movie, I've not read the book) is that it wasn't sexy. It was an older guy taking advantage of a naive woman. It wasn't her consenting. It was abuse and him controlling her.

If someone came on here and said their partner had sold their beloved car or bullied them into doing something they didn't want to, everyone would rightly be outraged.

If bdsm is your thing, have at it but don't be a disrespectful controlling dick (pun not intended!).

Yes! I find it so disgusting watching people sucking on these gross straws they’ve been sipping at all day, complete with smears of lipstick. Even worse if they have the lip fillers 🤢

Jamie Dornan was on a chat show and even he looked embarrassed to be in it! Ive not seen them but the trailer for the second one was in the cinema and I turned inside out with how cringy it looked.
