Are you enjoying this heatwave?

How is everybody doing in this lovely, but very hot, weather? I usually like hot, sunny weather, but Monday absolutely washed me out and I did nothing all day! Yesterday was slightly cooler but still hot, and I am ashamed to say I chickened out of a dental appointment for today! Could not bear the thought of driving into town, sit in that hot, stuffy room for half an hour!! On the plus side, my dog is going for a bath and groom today so at least she will feel cooler after that!

I've caught myself daydreaming about winter quite a lot 😂 roast dinners and apple crumble, Sunday night board games and films, muddy dog walks etc. can't wait

You can eat roast dinners and apple crumble anytime. We had a roast last week.

I’ve had enough now. I don’t enjoy temperatures over 30c. Low 20s is nice. We need rain though now.

No. I can't get anything done and that makes me irritable. I get headachy and lethargic. It was 36/37 on Thursday and opening my west facing front door felt like checking the oven.

I’m in the north east wondering what heat wave to be honest. We’ve had low teens to early twenties and plenty of clouds and rain. We had two hotter days this week around 28 but they were very much the exception.

I was out and about in Northumberland yesterday. It was max 26 c and I was melting. I love the sun and the happiness that comes with waking up to a bright day but my peri -menopausal body can't cope with moderate heat.
It makes me tired, irritable and I am soaking my clothes in sweat.
I'm looking forward to a cooler Autumn.

Hated every second of it. My house is poorly insulated and I work from home, there’s been no getting away from it. I can’t sleep with the noise of a fan, and even with it on my bedroom has been over 30 degrees. I keep thinking of people who live in high rise flats and wonder how on earth they’re coping. I’m sure if you have air conditioning or live right by the sea it’s been fine, but everyone I know in the city has struggled this year.

Good for you. That doesn't appeal to me at the height of summer

I like it. But I feel guilty thinking about the impact on farmers, wildlife, people of all ages who can’t/don’t enjoy it. Not to not to mention people who have lost everything in fires. Started to really think about greening my life.
