why can’t you sleep? I’ll go 1st.
I’m wide awake as too much on my mind and just can’t seem to drop off!!

OP posts:
fantasticoplastico · 24/05/2026 04:59

The birds outside wake me up at 445 every bloody morning.

Berlinlover · 24/05/2026 05:03

I had chemotherapy on Thursday and now have insomnia even though I’m exhausted.

Miordle · 24/05/2026 05:05

Was out last night. Woke up boiling at 3.30am. Can't get back to sleep, it's too hot.

BrennieGirl · 24/05/2026 05:07

The dog (which under no circumstances is allowed to sleep on the bed) is having rabbit chasing dreams and twitching like mad. Despite having a six foot bed, he is asleep behind my knees and I am hanging off the edge of the bed.

HoraceCope · 24/05/2026 05:17

my dog wakes me, about 4.30
i am not sure if the birds wake her as they are very noisy.

Fraughtmum · 24/05/2026 05:23

I'm now up, washing on, read 150 pages of book. Luckily no plans at all today or tomorrow as I did enough peopling last week. Dh's turn to cook as well.

Butchyrestingface · 24/05/2026 05:24

I had a bonkers dream that involved me living back in my childhood home abroad, being surrounded by people one of whom is murderer, trying to decide whether to pursue a relationship with Colin Morgan the Irish actor who lives next door, and finally the scene morphing into a big party in a hall which is then consumed by fire and I exit, almost running into Darth Vadar and a bunch of storm troopers seeking us, the rebel leaders.

Very annoyed to be woken before 5am on a weekend I am working by such nonsense.

crazeekat · 24/05/2026 05:26

Dream about my ex. Woke to my cat pawing at my face.

SusanSHelit · 24/05/2026 05:31

Just finishing up a night shift, last one of the run so I plan on going home, showering, putting on my sundress and factor 50 catching a few hours on the picnic blanket in the garden before ds comes back from his dad's this afternoon. I refuse to let night shifts get in the way of enjoying the beautiful weather!

Tiddlywinks63 · 24/05/2026 05:36

I’ve been awake for a couple of hours, my fingers on my right hand are itching like mad. Goodness knows why
It’s completely quiet, only the sparrows in the shrub beneath my window are making any sound.
I have had a coffee and I’ll read for a couple of hours, it’s comfortable and cool in my bedroom.

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 24/05/2026 05:43

The rabbits fighting in the garden woke me up.

Sortingmyself · 24/05/2026 05:45

Restless DH who also snores 😬
Birds tweeting
Drank alcohol last night

Now I'm awake, my brain has kicked in and all the worries are churning and keeping me awake...

FcukTheDay · 24/05/2026 05:51

I have been awake for a few hours as my cat did not come home last night. She is normally in before 5pm but no sign of her.

keepswimming38 · 24/05/2026 05:54

My daughter (20) became ill with sepsis in April and now struggling to walk properly. It’s been tough. My DH has planned a few days away but last night my daughter started coughing and I’ve been up all night worrying how to tell husband I don’t want to go away now. He’s desperate for a break but I don’t want to be 3.5 hours away with no phone reception.

CeeJay81 · 24/05/2026 05:56

Oh gosh, that must be a worry for you. Xxx

Breastfeeding 10 month old. Just finished feeding (47 mins) and holding upright ish for 10 mins now before I attempt the put down. I tried to unlatch a few times towards the end as not sure he was really feeding that whole time but he gripped tighter and my nipple hurt so I left it. Love the birds singing though missing my bed.

McGregor33 · 24/05/2026 06:02

Still awake since 2am since my toddler decided sleep is not required tonight 🙈

fouroclockrock · 24/05/2026 06:03

I was woken up by my phone pinging at 2am. Tried to ignore and go back to sleep but I kept drifting in and out for a couple of hours. Turns out a new work colleague decided to send a voice message to let me know how her voice sounds when she is ill. 😖.

escape · 24/05/2026 06:05

Alarm at 4.15am. Take son to work for 5am. Home, done a full wash, had a cuppa. Will hang out washing, do another load and sort house before garden centre opens at 10.
Middle aged life today! 🤣

Hollowvoice · 24/05/2026 06:30

Went to sleep very early last night (alcohol may have been involved) so I woke up about an hour ago.

HelpMeGetThrough · 24/05/2026 06:34

I’ve not got back to sleep much at all since 1am, maybe an hour.

I’m hoping not to do too much today. Got to take my car in for new tyres at 10:30, glad I’m not paying for that, as the tyres are 200 quid each!! l also need to cut in a grey wall in my eldests room, which is easy enough and shouldn’t take long.

Will sit outside after that with a drink of something. I will probably weed the gravel as it’s doing my head in. It’s not even that bad, I’m just a bit OCD over things like that.

Autumngirl5 · 24/05/2026 08:21

Lovely post … thank you OP. I hope you all have a good and peaceful day and we all sleep well tonight x

I have a type of migraine that makes me intensely tired for several days. I sleep but wake exhausted and in pain and end up more or less passing out several times during the day. This goes on for 2 or 3 days. Then I wake up feeling fine, more than fine, almost hyper energetic and alert and then I feel no tiredness at all through the day, and come bedtime can’t sleep. Which is why I am awake now. I did take a magnesium tablet at around 7pm, but no use.

Are you on statins? I'm not a fan of them for anyone because of side effects. But someone I know had to start taking them and their migraines went? No idea how or why?

CerseisWig · 24/05/2026 08:52

Have any of you that have trouble sleeping tried rain sounds? That gets me to sleep. I put earphones in and have it downloaded on Spotify so I don't need WiFi. I did it last night and woke up at 10.30am. It's 2 hours ahead here.
