I’m wide awake as too much on my mind and just can’t seem to drop off!!

DH won’t stop snoring. Little one and I are losing our minds here 😭

BooneyBeautiful · 24/05/2026 02:43

Pain in my shoulder. Just waiting for the painkillers to kick in. Am doing my physio exercises each day, but they don't seem to be working.

Whatagooddog · 24/05/2026 02:43

Woke up with anxiety and now I'm reading the very excellent book I started just before bed. Not sure I'll bother trying to get back to sleep. It'll be light in an hour anyway and this is the first book I've really enjoyed for ages.

Cluelessasacucumber · 24/05/2026 02:46

Pumping whilst DH feeds and shushes newborn.

BooneyBeautiful · 24/05/2026 02:46

Doggodoggo · 24/05/2026 01:35

DH snoring and snorting. Driving me mad.

DP is staying with me over the Bank Holiday weekend, but he sleeps in the spare room, so I don't have to put up with any snoring or snorting! To be honest though, I think my snoring is probably way worse than his!

MrsTrellisOgleddCymru · 24/05/2026 02:47

I suffer from chronic insomnia, so I'm just back from taking my dog for a walk! We both thoroughly enjoyed it, no one about - and it's so much cooler!

Breastfeeding newborn & obsessively googling sleeping bag tog charts to check he's not too hot in this weather (is 1 tog too much with nothing else on?? :/

Depends how hot it is inside the room
Assuming your baby regulates their temperature normally then 1tog is generally fine for temps of 20c and with just a nappy
Id get a 0.5 tog though as we get into summer of if the rooms over 20c

One of mine couldn’t regulate and he was always in a 0.5 except for winter. My other two were fine in a 1 tog for hot days

pnutter · 24/05/2026 02:59

A combination of new home decorating upheaval
DS on sofa , Ddog and I on a makeshift bed
plus I have a really painful and itchy right boob no idea why

Thanks, that is helpful :) Its 26 degrees in here so pretty hot. I'm just reluctant to take the sleeping bag off as it's one of those swaddle ones that stops them startling themselves with their own arms! I'll have to see if I can find a 0.5 tog version.

OhGoshNotAgain · 24/05/2026 03:04

Bloody indigestion and painful trapped wind.

Autumngirl5 · 24/05/2026 03:09

Think I have a virus. Temperature (as if it isn’t hot enough)🙄 … sore throat …cough and thumping headache.

Are you breastfeeding? ltcy and painful boob's should be checked out pnutter
If you are breastfeeding it could be a sign of mastitis. Even if not breastfeeding you still need to get checked out.

That’s exactly the type we used ( Gina Ford recommendation ) . Aren’t they great for keeping baby feeling secure !

gosh 26c.! Single glazed here in Kent and inside temp at 16c and I’m struggling with the heat.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 24/05/2026 03:15

pnutter · 24/05/2026 03:16

I’m 55 on Monday defo not breastfeeding or pregnant,
I thought this morning maybe I have shingles

Emeraldforest · 24/05/2026 03:16

I only usually sleep 3 of 4 hours a night at the best of times. Also the heat and having to get up to get snack for my little old kitty who eats little and often.

UnexpectedCurveBall · 24/05/2026 03:19

It’s only 11:20 where I am and I’ve just finished watching tonight’s Stanley Cup hockey game. Just doing some doom scrolling before I go to sleep.

Cornishclio · 24/05/2026 03:21

Stinking head cold with chronic blocked nose making sleep impossible.

HollyGolightly4 · 24/05/2026 03:24

On the antenatal ward and they've just woken me up from a light doze to do my obs

RonnieForteWhiskyTalkinNSOUL · 24/05/2026 03:26

Just woke from a weird sertralinw dream.

Slightyamusedandsilly · 24/05/2026 03:28

Combination of things.

  1. Went to bed unusually early because I'd overdone it eating crisps and made myself feel a bit sick. I'm also usually a very early riser due to work, so despite not having to get up in the morning, am not far off my usual get up time.

  2. Had a weird dream about being at a dinner party with an ex colleague who I didn't particularly like and had a dream intense convo with (????).

  3. Bastard cats have decided its time for another meal (they are NEVER fed at 3am) and are loudly performing outside my bedroom door in an attempt to wake me up.

  4. Got a bit of a headache.

ThisJollyTaupeGuide · 24/05/2026 03:28

I'm in the US and it's only 10:30pm here.

hmb255 · 24/05/2026 03:32

Yes, he sleeps so much better with it! It'll have to come off though I guess. It's supposed to be even hotter tomorrow, unfortunately!

lulubalu · 24/05/2026 03:36

Jet lag is why i'm awake at stoopid-o-clock
