How many biscuits is a portion?

Does it depend on the biscuit?! I think the number increases drastically if I’m dipping in a cuppa.

Me and DH have settled on four, but he doesn’t know about the ones I eat before I leave the kitchen…

2, 4 is greedy

Bore off.

We're adults and can eat 4 biscuits if we want.

We shouldn't be called names by other women about our biscuit eating choices....

I stopped after 10 once… it was a triumphant moment

They only have ten in a pack these days. I know chocolate bars have shrunk massively but somehow less Jaffa cakes felt like betrayal.

dontmalbeconme · Yesterday 08:38

Two in a portion, but it's OK to sometimes eat more than one portion.

Beamur · Yesterday 08:41

2

Oh did I hit a nerve? The OP asked a question and I gave an answer. People who eat a whole packet of biscuits are greedy.

IsawwhatIsaw · Yesterday 09:01

1 or 2 on a calm day.
Maybe half the packet on a challenging day..

DilemmaDelilah · Yesterday 09:27

For me - half a packet... which is why I don't buy biscuits! For my mum - 1. Realistically, 3 or 4 probably, but those little packets you get in hotel rooms only have 2.

AllThePickledOnes · Yesterday 10:25

2-4 feels like a sensible portion. As a teen I always used to have 3 biscuits.

Now it's easily half a packet to a whole packet. Obviously not sensible, I know!

fivepastmidnight · Yesterday 11:07

Three or multiples of three. So If I eat one whilst waiting for the kettle to boil I can get another one so that I've still got three. If I eat those three, then I can get another three. Yes, I am overweight.

Nightmanagerfan · Yesterday 11:31

1 surely? It has never occurred to me to eat more?!

rightoguvnor · Yesterday 12:05

🙄 There’s always one who only takes one.

Anyhow, to the business at hand - where do we stand on custard creams and bourbons? Technically 2 biscuits encasing the cream element. Or do we ignore technicalities.

CeeceeBloomingdale · Yesterday 12:07

I'd start with two, I may have seconds.

Applepe · Yesterday 12:08

When you open the packet using the tape thingy, you have to eat the first 4 biscuits in order to reseal the packet.

managingexpectations · Yesterday 12:19

Well I’ve just eaten 3 hobnobs for my lunch so I’m going to go for 3!
if it was a smaller, less substantial biscuit I’d say 4…but then again I’m fat so i’m probably wrong! 😂

NortieTortie · Yesterday 12:28

I consider 2 a portion, but I wouldn't feel satiated until 4(+). This is why I don't eat biscuits 😂

VanCleefArpels · Yesterday 12:31

Are people really eating a whole packet of biscuits in one go?? My mind is blown at this.

Of course it hasn't 🙄

How is 4 biscuits a whole packet...?

Comefromaway · Yesterday 12:58

Fortnum & Mason clotted cream pistachio biscuits - 1
McVities Digestive - 2
Cadburys fingers - 3
Custard/Bourbon creams - 2

OttersOnAPlane · Yesterday 13:03

There has been a note taped to the biscuit tin for 15 years:
Two is a Portion

This is because of several occasions of one of the offspring eating the whole batch of shortbreads (although it might have been smarties cookies) and no one else getting a look in. Then the other one did it for revenge.

Comefromaway · Yesterday 13:05

The Fortnum's biscuits are so lovely but so expensive that I make a tin of them last about 3 months. I think there are somewhere between 22-25 biscuits in a tin.

CherryEverything · Yesterday 13:11

Two although my kids and DH disagree.

Three or multiples of three. So If I eat one whilst waiting for the kettle to boil I can get another one so that I've still got three. If I eat those three, then I can get another three. Yes, I am overweight.

This is my kind of logic!

I hate the word "portion" as much as I hate the word "moist".

As far as a serving goes, all of the biscuits are 1 serving.

Yes, all.
