How many biscuits is a portion?

Does it depend on the biscuit?! I think the number increases drastically if I’m dipping in a cuppa.

Me and DH have settled on four, but he doesn’t know about the ones I eat before I leave the kitchen…

Several, half a pack perhaps … really it’s 2 plain r one fancy, according to the pack, might explain my waistline Blush

Firetreev · 13/05/2026 22:01

Depends what it is. I'd say two for chocolate digestives, hob nobs, chocolate rounds and the like. Three for smaller biscuits, and ideally one for things like triple chocolate chip cookies which come in a packet of four or five. Realistically though, I'll eat one, then go in for another half and then proceed to finish the other half within the hour.

There are portion sizes for biscuits??

How many biscuits is a portion?

I’d see 2 as a portion, when you get little packs of biscuits at hotels/ conferences etc they’re always in packs of 2. I could easily eat several portions though.

ArtesianWater · 13/05/2026 22:07

Conference Biscuits are so depressing. Two is never enough as I am inevitably jet lagged and need to mainline sugar to stay awake.

Funnylass · 13/05/2026 22:08

If it’s like small British biscuits then 1/2 a pack to a whole pack (I’m thinking custard creams, fig rolls, digestives), if it’s big American style cookies then 2 cookies.

Funnylass · 13/05/2026 22:09

If it’s shortbread then definitely a whole pack

Namechangeforthisdilemma1 · 13/05/2026 22:09

A packet between 2 🤣

KvotheTheBloodless · 13/05/2026 22:12

2 is the number in my head for a portion of biscuits because that's what we were allowed as kids from the biscuit tin.

Having said that, I eat significantly more than one portion!

LifeBeginsToday · 13/05/2026 22:12

If it's the heaviest day of my period, like today, then 10.

Burntt · 13/05/2026 22:14

None because biscuits are disgusting.

id rather have a 200g bar of galaxy chocolate to dip in a coffee. That is just about adequate for portion size

DeathMetalMum · 13/05/2026 22:14

Two or three if it's a bog standard biscuits such as malted milk or fruit shortcake though they are thin so probably three. Shortbread fingers two maximum. Custard creams have to be eaten in pairs as they always come in a double pack so either two or four. Something like a half coated chunky chocolate chip cookie then one. Jaffa cakes are not biscuits so don't count.

Secretseverywhere · 13/05/2026 22:18

I think two is a portion. I quite like to take two oaties ( Aldi dupe of hobnob) and sandwich together with Nutella type stuff. They are pretty chunky though.

That said I’ve never been able to put an open packet of Jaffa cakes back in the cupboard though do however many are left. Technically they are a cake rather than a biscuit though.

maudelovesharold · 13/05/2026 22:20

Well, I always reckon 6, for rich tea fingers!

youalright · 13/05/2026 22:21

A pack. And thats the exact reason we rarely buy biscuits

Redrosesposies · 13/05/2026 22:23

Nurse at the GP surgery told me I could have one biscuit a week for a treat on a Friday.🤣🤣

daisybaby121 · 13/05/2026 22:25

Depends on the biscuit ! I would say 2 or 3, however Marylands are a different story

I had a big American style cookie on a US airbase in the UK once. It was bigger than a dinner plate, and I don't think I needed to eat for about two days afterwards.😁

ValleyoftheShadow · 13/05/2026 22:39

Generally, two. However, I often stretch to that third one, just because.

Did they say how big this biscuit had to be? I'm thinking you could perhaps 'meld' a few together to make a single biscuit 😇

ACR7 · 13/05/2026 22:41

I’m not saying I would only eat 2 but I think two is a portion as that’s what you get in them
little hotel packets.

user293948849167 · 13/05/2026 22:42

Two

Ohbiscuitss · 13/05/2026 22:42

This

CoverLikelyZebra · 13/05/2026 22:42

Macaroons - 1
Hobnobs, digestives, chocolate dipped ginger biscuits and similar - 2
Maryland cookies, foxes crunch cremes, oreos - 3

Jaffa cakes - 8

sesquipedalian · 13/05/2026 22:43

It depends on the biscuits. Chocolate hobnobs - well, I don’t think we’re counting, are we?
