What's your favourite reform policy?

My favourite three are:

  1. Using public money to subsidize private health care, I really like this one because it will mean that I, a high earner who already gets private health care, will save at least 20% on my care and I don't really care if it means that there's less for others who need the NHS.
  2. Banning working from home. I hate how empty the office has become and I'm bored there now, there's no one to talk to. And I think wfh people are lazy.
  3. Taxing women who don't have children. The WHOLE PURPOSE of being a woman is to have kids! Not doing it is selfish.

What are your favourites?

Rather than inferring that everyone who voted for Reform is either an idiot, the devil incarnate, or somewhere along that continuum, it might be better to ask why people are voting for them and use that knowledge to push for change - because it's obvious that something has gone very wrong with the current situation.

Exactly. People are voting Reform because they're looking for change. But let's actually look closely at what that's going to mean. Because I don't think they are necessarily going to like what they'll get, or get what they'd like. That's OP's point.

Moodibags · 08/05/2026 10:21

There is no way anyone could misunderstand that the OP was being sarcastic, those pp are being obtuse

Kokonimater · 08/05/2026 10:40

Interesting that no one has detailed any positive reform policies. There must be some reform voters on MN?

OttersOnAPlane · 08/05/2026 10:42

Tweed jackets for everyone!

SpaDaysForAll · 08/05/2026 10:46

If we become trumps 51st state it might make border control a nicer experience 🇺🇸 🫡

GimmieABreakOr3 · 08/05/2026 10:50

100% 😂

Looking forward to the concentration camps detention centres.

I’m disabled so I’m finished really. Going to try and enjoy my days until they finish me off.
And I’m not joking.

Dental hygienists will be finished. Because Nige’s teeth….

That (again) assumes people are so stupid that they don't know what they're going to get. I would reframe that - they know what they're going to get and they think that it's better than what they're getting at the moment, or they are so fed up of what they're getting that it's a way of voicing that anger or unhappiness.

I had a comment removed once because I called someone’s daughter a brat. The poster was stating all the awful things her teenage daughter was doing.
How offensive is the word brat to describe someone who’s showing brattish behaviour?!!! Hilarious.

I've had posts removed for similar - I quoted and said the behaviour was bad (like we do for children!) and it was deleted as a "personal attack"

total bollocks

This is all irrelevant though and arguably as bad as criticising Rayner's clothes. I don't care about Farage's teeth. I do care about the financing of his party and his apparent propensity to support the rich getting richer, to encourage racism, and so on. And I don't think he and his band of supporters have the mindset and expertise we need running the country.

Just be glad it's not the Greens 🤡

There is an element of that but it's by no means all Reform voters or intending voters. I would argue that the lack of scrutiny and critical discussion of Reform and their policies makes it hard for voters to see the full picture of what they'll get. That discussion is needed, soon.

GoodkneeBadKnee · 08/05/2026 11:07

I don't know much about their policies, but Nigel is SUCH a vibe! Oh, and STOP THE BOATS.

CelticSilver · 08/05/2026 11:10

Oh, arent we all smug and clever. Vile.

She’s trying to get people to understand that the Turkeys have voted for Christmas.

Quite, it’s so obviously sarcastic. I'll just play my part by saying that I'm looking forward to having a PM who is best buddies with Trump and turns us into a de facto 51st state.

I totally agree. A woman's place is in the home.

Are you fucking having a laugh.

You could respond with a genuine point about what policies you like / voted for?

NFLsHomeGirl · 08/05/2026 11:32

My OH announced he voted Reform yesterday. How can I tell him he's a fucking twat without calling him a fucking twat.

Serious question - anyone??

Catsandbooksaremybag · 08/05/2026 11:33

Well, so far, my local Reform council have hiked up council tax and are looking to close down our county's adult education centres and local tip. What larks!

Aposterhasnoname · 08/05/2026 11:52

Well I'm no reform voter by any stretch of the imagination, but my favourite part will be seeing the look on the faces of sanctimonious twats like the OP when they realise that looking down their nose and sneering at people has not had the desired effect and just maybe they should try listening to reform voters rather than just dismissing them all as stupid racists.

Feelingstressedbutdoingmybest · 08/05/2026 11:55

Relaxing gun ownership laws! So excited for the school shootings to come over here from the US. And domestic violence homicides to sky rocket.

Great thing about this policy is that even if Reform only get in for one term, the guns will already be out there in our communities!

Ice Ice Baby

Looking forward to masked thugs swarming the streets.

bedfrog · 08/05/2026 12:04

I can't wait to lose my job due to wfh and dei initiatives being scrapped. I hate work anyway and the extra pressure on my dh will really make him feel on charge.
And the loss of my disability benefits too, which will stop me having additional treatments not available on the NHS and will expedite my death, meaning I won't have to be a drain on society any more. Woohoo!

bedfrog · 08/05/2026 12:05

Oh also when they deport my husband! That'll stop me being a drain on society even faster!
