What's your favourite reform policy?

BobbieTables · 08/05/2026 08:36

My favourite three are:

  1. Using public money to subsidize private health care, I really like this one because it will mean that I, a high earner who already gets private health care, will save at least 20% on my care and I don't really care if it means that there's less for others who need the NHS.
  2. Banning working from home. I hate how empty the office has become and I'm bored there now, there's no one to talk to. And I think wfh people are lazy.
  3. Taxing women who don't have children. The WHOLE PURPOSE of being a woman is to have kids! Not doing it is selfish.

What are your favourites?

I’m looking forward to out next PM being in Trump’s back pocket, having religiously supported him by campaigning for Trump at his rallies. Can’t wait for our military to be deployed to Hormuz to serve at the behest of Kegstand Pete and come home in body bags.

I also quite like the idea of a leader who accepts £5,000,000. Shakes up the status quo, innit.

olivepicanto · 08/05/2026 09:46

I think all their policies are great, so very difficult to choose

I think my favourite would be becoming trump's 51st state and sending my sons off to get killed by
some "friendly fire". It would be worth the sacrifice because "patriotism" and "protecting are boarders"

Oh, my comment above is hidden so the team at MN can look at it…that has never happened before in twenty years of using MN, I haven’t used any bad language. …media bias?

Did you mention the currency starting with c and ending with o? - always gets automatically hidden by the spam filter if so your post will get un-hidden

Policy - do they have any?

Favourite sound bites.

Nigel Farage on his £5million gift from crypto billionaire Christopher
Harborne was “deeply concerned for my safety”. He also said the money was given so he could be “safe and secure for the rest of my life’ Goodness me, how many MP’s do we have? Not a problem giving them all gifts to keep them safe, but £5 million each is going to cost a fortune if they can’t find their own rich, selfless 😂, friends to fund them. Wish I had one!

Durham Council Leader ‘I am going to save ‘billions’ of the council budget’. His budget is £620 million. No detail of all the public services he will need to end, but as adult social care is the largest expense, pity the elderly requiring help.

The UK is being “overrun” by asylum seekers.
This ignores that most immigration into the UK comes through legal routes, particularly work and student visas. Home Office data has repeatedly shown students and workers make up far larger migration groups than asylum seekers

Cleared - must have been the ‘c’ coin word.

For me the biggie is getting rid of maternity leave. It’s not as if it’s needed! Too indulgent

Rather than inferring that everyone who voted for Reform is either an idiot, the devil incarnate, or somewhere along that continuum, it might be better to ask why people are voting for them and use that knowledge to push for change - because it's obvious that something has gone very wrong with the current situation.

Thing is I think that is exactly what Labour are doing - working out why normal people are pissed off and trying to make things better for them. Reducing nhs waiting lists, trying to reduce absolute poverty , trying to fix a broken housing market. Trying to undo decades of austerity and the economic fiasco of Brexit that have bitten all but the richest

what they are not doing however is agreeing that it’s “all the fault of immigrants “ and throwing them all out of the country. That’s a solution that they don’t agree will work.

I can’t work out if your OP is serious or tongue in cheek. If it’s serious, I’m in despair.

I think Reform’s main policy is to make the rich richer and the poor poorer and to blame all problems on immigrants - the latter is what Hitler did. We never learn.

She’s trying to get people to understand that the Turkeys have voted for Christmas.

Its got to be scrapping the equality act so that pregnant women lose all protection in the workplace.

I actually think these Reform local councillors will stop Farage from getting in once they fuck up all the local councils. It’s weirdly a good thing.

We've had a reform local councillor for a year he's not done a single thing and he's moved to dubai

Yes ❤️Trump obvs, and Nige is so astute as a business man getting all that money, but what about the great great policies though?

Not just that, scrapping the equality act means pregnant women can just be fired if they have to much sick leave or go to, to many appointments or just for being pregnant. And forget any parental leave your kid gets sick thats your problem there will be no protection or rights. Plus the talks of banning abortion will mean you won't even have a choice but to continue the pregnancy.

Bringing back fascism. Love the architecture.

I agree. Also the uniforms. And the marching.

U53rName · 08/05/2026 10:11

Nice is such a great, salt-of-the-earth working class chap. It’s only by circumstance that he was privately educated and worked as a trader in the city before becoming an MP. He’s a working class man of the people—honest.

Yes, I mean, reform say they are not fascist, I think, but if we read Umberto Echo's fascism list there ARE some positives which I think Nige is bringing in.

I agree with this. The alternative is to let in more people off the boats. A successful market economy needs an ever growing amount of consumers. Where else would they come from?

Since a few comments took the title seriously it's missed its mark!

blackpooolrock · 08/05/2026 10:19

I've liked many different policies over the year from different parties however i tend to find most of them are not implemented - they make these policies up and put them in their manifesto then once they win they say oh we can't do that because my granny comes to tea on thursdays - a completely random and spurious reason.

OnlyYellowRoses · 08/05/2026 10:20

Definitely!
Im really looking forward to giving up work because I'm a mum now. Being able to live with just my husband's salary to support us and our mortgage will be lovely. Especially since house prices are almost identical to the 70’s when you could survive nicely on one wage…oh wait 😅

Thats if my husband doesn’t end up losing his job as he might just be ‘a bit too old’ to do it, ah I’m going to miss the equalities act. Mind you, I expect all the people who suddenly have to financially support their wives, sisters and daughters will love having them at home more, that’s where we all belong right?
