My parents sent us a cheque in the post, just arrived today.
DH said, "I can't pay this in via the banking app; it's too big."
I said, "But it's just a normal sized cheque, surely?"
DH: "No, the amount of money it's for is too high - you cant pay that much in online!"

D'oh! 🤦‍♀️😳 😅😅

Many years ago, my boss was doing a sponsored silence.

Mid-morning, I needed to tell him something, so I went to his desk, sat down and started to write him a note. He held one finger up, scribbled something quickly, and gave me a note saying ‘Gin, you can talk’. Blush

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Whoops… I quoted the post about air letters, thinking about when we used to send them to overseas relatives (thin blue paper) but then wrote something unrelated🤦‍♀️

I was lying in bed one morning recently. DH had gone out to work and DD to school, so it was just our whippet and me.

I was in that half asleep, half awake state. Felt under the duvet with my left hand - there was a strange hand under there. Wtf? This cold dread came over me - is it actually our dog's paw?
No, definitely a hand. Under the duvet. And I'm the only person in the house.

Shifted around and gradually got the feeling back to the "strange" hand, which was of course my own right hand, that I'd been lying on and made numb, so that in my dream state, it honestly felt like my left hand was feeling a complete stranger's hand. Was bloody freaky! 😅

I'be had a stroke. At first I kept getting freaked out about a strange hand being in bed with me, but over the past year I've learnt that it's mine & not to panic! It's still weird though 😂

My DM was once going home from town on the bus and suddenly thought 'Where's my shopping? Oh, that's right, on the back of the pram... Hang on, where's the pram?!' 😱 It was still outside the last shop she'd been in, with me wailing inside and a concerned crowd gathering...

Worse, she'd actually gone to town in the car... Post-natal hormones, eh...

Bloody hell 😂😂😂

I remember aerogrammes! I also remember receiving one (from an English friend) inside a stamped, addressed, airmail envelope 🤦🏻‍♀️

I couldn't remember the name for them. Unbelievably there are some for sale on ebay, including a pack with prepaid UK postage anywhere from 1990!

I was replying to my friend the other day, who had asked me to pop in and feed her dog, and that she’d leave the back door open so it could go out for a wee when it wanted.

My reply was ‘of course! Remind me what the code is for your key safe?’

I’d make a shit burglar😂

If it's any consolation at all, I thought the exact same as you. I read "size" as the physical size of the cheque, not the amount... 😵‍💫🤦🏾

My brother was doing some training in Canada for 2 weeks. Mentioned it to my ex then I said do you think it will be hot? 😂😂😂 Yeah I know it can get warm in Canada. But he was going over winter.

Reminds me of the time a work colleague told me that 'some bastard' nicked her two hundred pound carp from her home.
I puzzled for hours on how TF did she store such a huge fish and where. Was it in a massive pond or industrial sized freezer?
It wasn't till I got home and told DH I discovered that the 200 was £££ and not Lbs. Blush
It had been a long shift though. Smile

GM TV once spent the entire time they were on air reporting that 50% of NHS hospitals were below average.

As a student living in my first house share, I went to the electricity board shop (remeber them?) to tell them our gas central heating wasn’t working.

Im attempting to grow pumpkins. Instructions said to grow them on the edge ... I couldn't work this out and thought it would be weird to grown them right on the edge of the pot 🥴 turns out it's means put the flat seed on its edge. My parents found my stupidity amusing 😆

I have never, ever, been reading a paper and ink book and tried to pinch an area on the page to make it bigger. Not me. 😗

I've done that whilst reading the paper I tried to expand the photo .
I've mistakenly chewed foam ear plugs thinking they were haribo worst bit they were used🤮🤣

When I was a kid I put armbands on my ankles to see if I could walk on water.

Very dangerous, don't do it.

Me too! 😳 Got whistled at by the lifeguard.

Presuming the back door opens onto a secured garden not seeing what's wrong with this?

Many years ago when working overseas my sister sent me a long letter on some very nice notepaper in an airmail envelope. I wrote back she should buy airmail paper to reduce postage. Her response "don't be daft, how would they know what was in the envelope"!

I forgot about airmail letters do you remember the all in one kind you wrote on one side and folded it into an envelope I remember getting penpal letters that way as a child

We'd just arrived at a caravan park for our holiday. I decided to pop out in the car to the shop. On the way back I was a bit worried that I wouldn't remember which caravan was ours but I thought, I'll just look out for our car. Only problem was I was driving it

Bloody hell 😂😂😂

My grandmother left me outside a shop in my pram too and walked home. It was in the days when people left their babies in prams outside the front door for fresh air (terraced house). Everyone commented on how good I was being (not usual apparently) and how long I was sleeping, until my mother went out to bring me in and screamed. At first they thought someone had walked off with the pram, but then they questioned Nanna and legged it back to the shop where the bewildered staff and some regular customers had been passing a screaming infant around for quite some time.

Aahh, those were the days!

I can’t remember who told me this but a friend said about family gathering when she had a young baby and getting engaged in conversation then overhearing someone else mentioning the baby and looking around and at her husband and feeling panicked asking him where the baby is. Readers the baby was in a sling on her body

At least that wasn’t as bad as me - I left 10 day old dd1 in her pram in Boots, having completely forgotten that I had a baby. It was at least 10 minutes before it dawned - I was meeting my Dm whose aghast ‘Where the baby?’ sent me charging back in a panic in case anyone had nicked her…

DH and I were at the cinema once, first time I had been in years and years.
At one stage the background music was getting louder and louder.
I started rummaging around with my hands and looking on my seat and the empty seat beside me, realised what I was doing and stopped.
DH nudged me while trying to laugh quietly and said
"You were looking for the remote to lower the volume weren't you???????"
😳
