Schrödinger's Strait - Trump Thread #162A

Spandauer · 19/04/2026 14:58

The Strait of Schrödinger remains open and closed, safe and dangerous, insurable and uninsurable, blockaded and free.

"You put your tanker in, you put your tanker out
In, out, in, out, you sail it all about
You do the Straits of Hormuz and you turn around
That’s what it’s all about!"

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

Got overwhelmed by the 🍊💩's idiot fuckery last time and missed out thread #161 so have designated this one as fake #162...A

He Has No Deal, He Has No Dice - Trump Thread #162 | Mumsnet

Old enough to remember whole years in which I barely thought about the American president. Previous thread: [[https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/<u&gt...

From Occupy Democrats on FB. When it says “Breaking”, it could have been any time in the past few weeks, but anyway, here it is.

"BREAKING: Kamala Harris unleashes the most BRUTAL takedown of Trump to date — shredding him for his utter incompetence, for getting dragged into a pointless war by Netanyahu, and for covering up the Epstein scandal.
Imagine where we'd be if this brilliant woman were president instead....
"We are dealing with the most corrupt, callous, and incompetent presidential administration in the history of the United States. Period," the former vice president told a Democratic women's group in Michigan.
"And so on this list of what is empirical evidence of that point, let's talk about this war," she said. "He entered a war, got pulled into it by Bibi Netanyahu, let's be clear about that, entered a war that the American people do not want, putting at risk American service members."
On that point, there can be no arguing. No American interests were at stake and according to our own intelligence agencies, Iran posed no imminent threat to us and was not pursuing nuclear weapons. Trump launched this war because Netanyahu asked him to. Netanyahu asked him to because he wants to reduce Iran to a rubble-strewn failed state so that Israel has one less regional adversary opposing their territorial expansion into Gaza, Lebanon, and beyond. Trump has transformed the U.S. military into Netanyahu's personal hit squad.
"And among the many consequences of it, it includes jacking up the cost of gas so that on average Americans are paying at least $15 more to fill up their tank," said Harris. "Diesel costs 50% more, so that's what fuels a semi, a truck, that otherwise delivers our food and our household items. And where do we think that cost is going to land? It's on the consumer."
Again, Harris is zeroing in on what matters most to Americans. Trump promised to lower grocery prices. Instead, he came into office and immediately skyrocketed the cost of everything through his disastrous tariffs. Now he's pushing those prices even further with his pointless, illegal war.
"Let's understand that it is also, as he is want to do, and has always been, his feeble attempt to distract from the Epstein files, okay?" said Harris. "Let's understand it is his attempt to walk around as he is want to do, this insecure man, to walk around as though he is strong and will use the force of America's military against anyone whom he chooses."
"And to your point, when I served as Vice President of the United States, I met with over a hundred and fifty world leaders, presidents, prime ministers, chancellors, and kings, many of them multiple times, and I formed relationships," said Harris. "I have spent countless hours in the Situation Room, in my West Wing office in the White House, and steps down the hall in the Oval Office."
"And I will tell you, this president is the first president of the United States of either party since World War II, to abandon America's responsibility to one, a responsibility we assumed, imperfect though we are, to nurture and and protect our alliances, our friendships, and to thumb his nose at them," she continued.
"And two, to not even pretend and in fact dismiss the importance of upholding international rules and norms, such as sovereignty and territorial integrity," Harris went on. "And the end result, because I know we have limited time, is this, what he has done is he has one, in the eyes of our allies, made us unreliable, and two, he has eroded whatever influence we had to be able to speak to certain issues, imperfect though we know we have been."
This last point cannot be stressed enough. America may never fully recover from the reputational damage that Trump has inflicted on us. The rest of the world now sees that we are always just one bad election from having a demented, bloodthirsty, pedophiliac Republican in the White House. Other nations are beginning to see China, authoritarian though it may be, as a far more stable partner. There is exactly one path out of this nightmare we find ourselves in, and that's to elect Democrats across the board to begin unwinding the MAGA damage as best they can."

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

It'll be as strongly worded letter next.

Overheard in the petrol station today. Customer saying to cashier she wondered if petrol would come down a bit soon. Cashier, maybe but it won't go back to what it was.
Customer; bloody Trump 🙄😁

I struggle with this interpretation lots of people have: when paper and physical markets disagree, there's only going to be one practical winner I'm afraid.

Looks Like U.S. is Going to Pakistan With or Without Iran
Six U.S. government planes just landed in Pakistan. Communications gear, motorcade equipment, and support supplies have been offloaded at Pakistan Air Force Base Nur Khan in Rawalpindi ahead of the expected U.S.-Iran talks in Islamabad. Two planes arrived today, four more in the past 48 hours. The U.S. shows up to "diplomacy" the same way it shows up to everything else: with a LOGISTICS OPERATION.

Where is Iran?

It's a long one.
TL:DR Drumpf says he is the reason Apple is so successful.

I don't understand. Is that supposed to be a Trump parody account?

It's not a particularly good one if so. Chucks in a couple of his favourite words, but meh.

I think it's genuinely difficult for people whose natural style is complex, well-constructed sentences, to come down to Trump's level of prose.

It's not parody. The account reposts verbatim from Trump's Truth Social account.

Ah I see. Thank you.

Very obviously not penned by Trump!

I wonder if he even knows about half of what goes up on his Truth Social account! Maybe he did one of his rambles and some poor staffer got told, "Yeah, do a post about that."

WTF. The deletions have started. Not any of my posts tho.

Yeah. There was a batch of deletions a few days ago too. I saw the posts before and there was nowt wrong with them, But the same MO is at play. Someone branches the conversation in such a way that any replies to that branch go off subject.... and the delete gong is rung.

It's a strange debate style. Instead of addressing a point made, it's deflect, then yell "off subject. breaking the rules".

I refuse to engage with that poster directly.

Only Trump, surely, would say that he had five years as President rather than four like all others. "During my five years as President"

I suspect he suggests a theme, some staffer writes it then trump cut and pastes and adds in extra lies and !!!!

The short ones full of CAPS and !!!! posted at 4am are definitely Trump

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 21/04/2026 14:54

Maybe he meant "five years in total", come to think of it. But in the context it read as wrong.

You can't name a horse after someone alive, it can't be "rude" (even if Hoof Hearted and Mary Hinge did sneak through), and it has to have max 18 characters - there's other rules too, but I doubt Donny Bonespurs would get through vetting...although it's tempting to get myself to Tatts next sale to find out!

eta, I think Irish Racing is a little more chilled, so maybe we need someone based near Fethard to take up the challenge. 🙏🏻
