Schrödinger's Strait - Trump Thread #162A

Spandauer · 19/04/2026 14:58

The Strait of Schrödinger remains open and closed, safe and dangerous, insurable and uninsurable, blockaded and free.

"You put your tanker in, you put your tanker out
In, out, in, out, you sail it all about
You do the Straits of Hormuz and you turn around
That’s what it’s all about!"

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

Got overwhelmed by the 🍊💩's idiot fuckery last time and missed out thread #161 so have designated this one as fake #162...A

He Has No Deal, He Has No Dice - Trump Thread #162 | Mumsnet

Just had a look at that video. It was awkward for everyone. I think he simply could not reach the women to shake their hands. Whose stupid idea was it to place the tennis women on three separate staircases? How was he supposed to shake the hands of people much higher up than himself when there was no room to climb up the stairs?
He did talk to the women. I couldn't make out what he was saying, but he seemed to make them laugh. I am sure he congratulated them. Just another opinion.

Edited

He could have reached the women on the first step without any difficulty at all. The men even left a gap for him to go through – and turned aside to widen it.

But nope, Donald not interested.

He doesn't have the means/ordnance to "win" and the F-15 shoot down scared him fartless because images of downed crew being paraded alive or dead through Tehran would have been catastrophic for his Presidency...

Not sure why. After all, in Trump land they would be "losers".

Oh I know what you mean, a percentage of the MAGA crowd would be certainly be of that mind....not sure it would wash with the majoriry though...

The treatment by the locals of the two Delta operators (Shugart and Gordon) killed trying to protect Mike Durant in Mogadishu went over very badly at the time in the US and many believe certainly in part led to the then POTUS changing policy..(funnily enough that didn't get depicted in the film that portrayed events...)

Seems to me the orange loon and Harry are birds of a feather; one thinks he can start a war and expect immediate capitulation while the other believes his input will end a war.

https://www.dailymail.com/news/article-15760693/Trump-launches-attack-Prince-Harry-Duke-urged-US-honour-obligations-Ukraine-conflict.html

Weird comparisson.

I can't see anything wrong with Harry's support for Ukraine

There is a lot wrong with DM's support for Trump

I'm trying to be optimistic. The Orange Turd has united most of the world it seems against the US, at least in the short term. And perhaps countries will start to look at renewable energy and be less reliant on the Middle East. Maybe people will fly less (it's not sustainable). It's also made people think twice about Farage et al.

I don't know. I don't have much knowledge of world politics but is there a world leader that actually likes Trump? I'm sure Putin, Kim etc think he's a total knob.

Notonthestairs · 24/04/2026 11:03

We can all see Trump’s commitment to Ukraine.

Despite the actual tennis players being placed at the back, we've all seen Trump push others aside to position himself where he wants, including forcibly shoving Montenegro Prime Minister Dusko Markovic aside at a NATO photo shoot. So no reason for not moving towards the women who then could have responded by coming down the stairs to facilitate handshakes etc.

He did address the team's success in his own inimitable way.
Trump said. “Sophia Rojas sealed this team’s incredible victory, losing the first set before roaring back to dominate the next two and clinch Georgia’s sweep over Texas A&M. And all I can say is, ‘Go Bulldogs.’ That’s a great state, I love that state. Did very well there, too, in the election. You know, I only like the states that I win. So, it’s one of those.

Sadly, I'm too tired of his selfish antics to make any allowances.

Yup. And as @SerendipityJane posted a while back, much of the stuff from the US that NATO nations have paid for to send to Ukraine, has been pushed back years on delivery - diverted to the gulf.

Tbf, Trump showed where he was on helping Ukraine, from the start of his second term, when he immediately started undoing pledges made under the Biden administration.

Yes, that was my point. Biden increased support towards the end of his term and then it falls off a cliff after Trump's inaugeration.

Who made this lying arsehole king of the world?

He is in his element now - he really does believe that the rest of the world should be subservient to him.

Here we are, going into yet another (golfing) weekend with no progress on Iran/US talks.

And now the Falklanders are looking over their shoulders at the steaming pile of 🍊💩 who's suddenly appeared on their horizon.

Problem is you can't just switch off or reduce air transport (which is not just about people flying off on holiday) without there being a massive impact on supply chains and logistics, which ultimately means amongst many things job losses across multiple industries, not just aviation...

So you need to look long term, not short, at replacing oil with supposedly sustainable fuels. Doing that in aviation is proving tough because all the good intentions in the world can't get around the basic physics....as Dale Vince found out with his Ecojet project....so transitioning off oil is going to take a long time...

I did not know about this!😂 That was in 2017, a long time ago.Nine years is practically another geological era in politics. Do I think he may have learned a bit more restraint since then, especially around women? Quite possibly. He'd certainly know that barging through a group of women and climbing all over them would have sparked headlines for all the wrong reasons. Whatever his instincts, he's usually very aware of the cameras and of the fallout

countrygirl99 · 24/04/2026 12:20

@Butterflyvillage do you sincerely believe he even gave the women a second thought? Because I don't. They were merely there to give him an excuse to big himself up (not that he needs much excuse).

Oh I know - he’s just trying to scrabble back on US ‘win’ but not in a clear way at all - why would I expect differently though lol.

Actually, the first thing I thought when it popped up on my screen is that flag shaggers here will get so excited about the thought of that 🙈

The UK is criss crossed with pipelines for a lot of shit.

For what are hopefully obvious reasons the high pressure gas grid runs mainly a long long way from populated areas.

Yup. I did a few years in a LA Planning office. The pipeline and "safeguarding" of the local airport charts were pinned to the wall readily available.
