He's also said slavery was a choice, word a tshirt bearing the slogan"white lives matter" and said George Floyd wasn't murdered. Amongst other things. Political leaders seemed OK about those things though. Funny that.

BotterMon · 07/04/2026 14:48

Good. And glad the MH card hasn't been used to excuse his vile behaviour. Not just his antisemitism but his treatment of his wife as an object as well.

dapsnotplimsolls · 07/04/2026 14:24

I'm aware. He's apologised though.

Oh that’s ok then

GinToBegin · 07/04/2026 14:48

Someone mentioned free speech.

I’m all for it, go for it. speak freely. But actions have consequences, and, for example, praising Hitler, writing a song called H… H….r and producing clothes with swastikas on should have serious consequences. Like being banned from a country. This country.

So yeah, speak freely, but don’t be surprised when there are consequences for your actions. And don’t expect a meagre apology to wipe the slate clean. Some things leave indelible filth.

Soontobeorange · 07/04/2026 14:49

it’s beyond me that we have permitted the likes of Musk, Tommy Ten names & Katie Hopkins, along with other peddlers of hatred such as Bob Vylan/Kneecap a platform & routine far right marches. None have the word sorry in their vocabulary….

All of those people were born here. Where would we ban them to?

Edit: Except Musk obviously.

Great news

GingerBeverage · 07/04/2026 14:49

He strikes me as extremely mentally ill. Worse than Britney and with fewer guardrails in place.

Well obviously kayne could come here and perform illegally. What are you on about?!

dapsnotplimsolls · 07/04/2026 14:24

I'm aware. He's apologised though.

If he had made a single vile comment or released one ill-conceived song I might accept that apology and give him the benefit of the doubt.

But he hasn't. He has said several times that he agrees with nazism. He released a song literally titled Heil Hitler which has a huge swastika on the sleeve and is not in the slightest bit ironic. At some point you cannot undo your past with a simple apology.

mahiki · 07/04/2026 14:53

Why does the whole festival have to be cancelled now? Can’t they get someone else to headline?

SpottyAlpaca · 07/04/2026 14:53

Good. Well done Shabana. 👏

Hopefuly wireless festival will now go bust. That is exactly what they deserve for attempting to platform a Nazi scumbag.

That doesn’t make any sense as a comparison.

Happyjoe · 07/04/2026 14:57

Talk about throw your toys out the pram with Wireless cancelling! Their ego is bigger than all the fans, all the other artists and to cancel on them I hope costs them millions and they go bust. Absolutely disgusting behaviour - and that's my view before even get on with the twat being booked in the first place.

Yeah, they had weeks to find someone else. This is them throwing a wobbly.

Itsmetheflamingo · 07/04/2026 15:00

its inconceivable that wireless festival lost all that money to throw a strop about Kanye. There would’ve been no choice to continue without him without considerable risk (legal maybe) or financial loss

Well said, honestly, well said.

And if the shoe on the other foot, no way would an artist spouting that shit be allowed to go to America. They're more strict with visas imo.

An awful lot of people will have bought tickets because Kanye was headlining though. They would have had to give refunds.

Yes this, i imagine he would have performed for what an hour maybe probably ranted for longer, but they have cancelled out of spite, people buy tickets for these things without knowing the headliner. I hope everyone gets their money back.

I’m not surprised re KW but was a bit by this. They’ll have to pay everyone back surely.

BerryTwister · 07/04/2026 15:03

I'd block his entry to the UK on the basis of his crap music, even without his offensive views!

Lemonfrost · 07/04/2026 15:04

DoubleShotEspresso · 07/04/2026 14:44

So how do we explain or justify the hate filled weekly marches that have been permitted for so long? Why is this antisemitism acceptable in our cities, but a rapper who has apologised, following poor mental health episodes is not allowed? Why are so many of our Jewish communities so scared to leave their homes, visit their synagogue or visit central London due to vile antisemitism in the form of mass marches, ambulances being set ablaze and offensive graffiti & abuse? Why is this okay ?
Would we expect Bob Vylan (who was charged/arrested) to be allowed entry to America?

I don't disagree. However, this doesn't mean that we should welcome KW, and his protracted history of vile antisemitism.

mahiki · 07/04/2026 14:53

I thought that, and I feel sorry for the smaller acts that were due to perform.

dapsnotplimsolls · 07/04/2026 15:05

I've just checked - pre-sale tickets today, general sales were due to start tomorrow.

People still go. I've bought tickets to Wireless before and the band I loved pulled out. I still went, plenty of other fab artists to see and a good vibe.

He was headlining one night. What about the other acts over the days? The fans who wanted to see them? You telling me vast majority would not go because of 40 mins, one act, one night?

Edit: Just read he was supposed to play 3 nights.. so ignore the above!
