Anyone else staying up to watch the launch to navigate the moon? I didn’t realise until this evening it’s the first launch in 5 decades!

It’s moon day!

Still so excited for this. Have been enjoying watching them on and off for the last few days.

Me, downsides of being an astronaut; potential of death, not clever enough.

Upsides of being an astronaut; seeing the moon, inspirational and name goes into history books, getting to wear socks at work!

Looking forward to watching this evening. I’m an 80’s kid who grew up on films like ‘space camp’ and ‘Flight of the Navigator’ so going to space was a big, current thing when I was little. I was born 3 years after they launched the Voyager crafts and remember watching every time they got to a new planet.

8 minutes to go until they surpass the Apollo 13 record.

Absolutely. It's so exciting and the social engagement is fantastic.

It’s amazing I’m just pottering around tidying up and doing odds and ends while while there’s a live feed of 4 people making history and making observations of new science being streamed into my living room. it’s fascinating.

Same here - tidying up, changing beds, shower/hair while Netflix shows what these amazing humans are doing. Blows my mind!

I switched over to watch University Challenge and have just switched back and they are now so much closer to the moon! Scary how much bigger it is now.

RafaistheKingofClay · 06/04/2026 23:38

Orion, the moon and the earth.

Anyone going to be up for splashdown. It’s going to be quite a bit later than lift off.

Where can you watch it as I’d like to see it?

nocoolnamesleft · 10/04/2026 23:32

I'm currently watching the Sky news coverage. I hope to stay up until splash down.

I’m here - live on Netflix.

Assume they’re taking the feed straight from NASA on YouTube.

JellyBeanSpring25 · 10/04/2026 23:34

They’re strapped in, suited up into re-entry (proper astronauts!) suits and an hour and half from splash down.

I really should go to bed but I’ve been with them the whole journey so really need to see them home!

RafaistheKingofClay · 11/04/2026 00:06

NASA has it live on YouTube and their website. But is also on Netflix. Would assume UK new channels have it.

Earth looking huge and beautiful from the outer panel cameras now.

not sure what I’m going to do next week without a 24/7 moon journey feed in the background. 😂

Thanks guys!

JellyBeanSpring25 · 11/04/2026 00:07

Just passing over Australia as they come home 🙏

This was stunning earlier.

I’m seeing it to the end. I started annual leave on 1st April, watched the launch and the moon flyby and they’ve been the back ground to my time off with the live stream. Back to work Monday so I’m glad I got to be home while this was happening.

Bryonyberries · 11/04/2026 00:15

Did anyone else see the face in the clouds earlier on??

I may have gone to work on not very much sleep at all the morning after they passed around the moon.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 11/04/2026 00:31

I tried to go to bed but am back up seeing them
home. I’ve been hooked and really feel like I know the crew now.

Tiredmumno1 · 11/04/2026 00:37

Wow, amazing!!
