Do you buy adult DCs an Easter egg ?

I still get one off my DM as does DH off of my DM
I still buy for our adult dc and their partner . In fact I still do a Easter basket for adult dc and partner - see also Xmas treat box .
The partner said today they love it as their parents don't do it after age 16 . Which is probably pretty standard.

I just would feel bad not doing it now, plus I do enjoy doing it. This year I started buying when offers started to spread the cost though as some were daft prices

I do , we all get one actually. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy a chocolate egg.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 01/04/2026 00:20

I buy them for my DM and DMIL. This year I will be on a train in China with my DC and all their partners on Easter Sunday and I have already bought them all lots of small eggs and am imagining where I can do an Easter egg hunt on a train...

TenTenTenAgain · 01/04/2026 00:21

@WorkingItOutAsIGo put a mini egg in each of your pockets.

lingmerth · 01/04/2026 00:24

I’m in my sixties and still get one from my dad!

tinyspiny · 01/04/2026 00:29

We do , I’ve bought for my sister , adult children and their partners .

BePoisedPlumUser · 01/04/2026 07:25

Yes of course!

ifonly4 · 01/04/2026 08:22

We buy for DD and her partner, they usually both give us one as well. My DM is elderly and can't cope with anything other than basic shopping, so she now gives us £10 towards a bottle of wine😆. I usually give her flowers and a little gift (she can't have chocolate).

Wiaa · 01/04/2026 08:37

Mine are still little but both our parents still buy us Easter eggs ( im 50) my mil buys us an advent calendar too

YouthVitalityFrostbite · 01/04/2026 08:43

I still buy one for my dad and he's knocking 80! The first time I gave one to his partner she cried and said no one had bought her an egg in 30 years, so she gets the nicest smallest one (diabetic) I can find.

Silverbirchleaf · 01/04/2026 08:45

Yes I do.

Hadalifeonce · 01/04/2026 08:47

I do buy them eggs, and if we are all together, I buy lots of little ones and do an Easter egg hunt around the house.

Truffs2000 · 01/04/2026 08:48

I still get an Easter egg off my DM and I’m 43! I buy my DM and DF eggs too, they’re mid-70s and my DF goes nuts for a Kit Kat chunky egg!

UniquePinkSwan · 01/04/2026 08:49

No. That would be ridiculous

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 01/04/2026 08:51

None of them live near enough except one. He's getting.me one this year! If they were back for easter yes.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 01/04/2026 09:01

yes - and they still get advent calendars at christmas. Both late 20s.

Loopylalalou · 01/04/2026 09:06

Is this worth worrying about? I do buy my adult kids and their partners and their child an egg but I refuse to buy advent calendars and it’s now a family joke. But get a life….

anyolddinosaur · 01/04/2026 09:19

No. Not going to post Easter Eggs and dont expect to see them.

ParadiseIsNoBunker · 01/04/2026 09:23

I don’t think I’ve had an Easter egg bought for me since I was 16. I’m 56 now!

I’ll buy one for my old dad as he likes chocolate but that’s it (no kids).

AnnaQuayRules · 01/04/2026 09:26

No, because one DC doesn't really like chocolate and the other thinks Easter Eggs are a rip off (and only likes really posh chocolate anyway).

They both live over 200 miles away from us so we don't usually see them at Easter. However we're renting a holiday cottage near one of them and we are all staying there for the Easter weekend. I've bought them both a small present but not food related. Plus I'll pay for Easter Sunday lunch in a nearby pub for us all.

chichi001 · 01/04/2026 09:28

My mum buys me and my adult brothers an easter egg and a kids adventure calendar

Yes DS1 and DDIL2b and also DS2, I usually buy an egg for DH but we are going on holiday on Easter Monday

Edited

I cannot see how going away the following day would be any impediment to me anyone eating a whole egg 😁

You are totally correct, I'll buy DH one today (and help him eat it)

DancingLions · 01/04/2026 09:56

None of us eat much chocolate (we have other vices!) so we haven't done Easter eggs for years now. The DC are more keen on the roast on Easter Sunday. They'd be most upset if I didn't do that!

Onefortheroad25 · 01/04/2026 09:59

I bought ds21 one. My mum bought him one too. Why not, sure everyone loves an Easter egg!
Didn’t buy for dd25 as she doesn’t live here and I won’t see her.

OhBettyCalmDown · 01/04/2026 10:03

I don’t get one from my DM not really sure when it stopped probably when I moved out? My DH loves and egg and always buys a big one. I don’t bother with one for Easter Sunday but I’ve usually eaten about 3 or 4 of the little ones before the day so I’m not that upset 😂
