Do you buy adult DCs an Easter egg ?

I still get one off my DM as does DH off of my DM
I still buy for our adult dc and their partner . In fact I still do a Easter basket for adult dc and partner - see also Xmas treat box .
The partner said today they love it as their parents don't do it after age 16 . Which is probably pretty standard.

I just would feel bad not doing it now, plus I do enjoy doing it. This year I started buying when offers started to spread the cost though as some were daft prices

Yes and his gf. Also get them advent calendars 😂

caringcarer · 31/03/2026 23:08

Yes, I buy 2 adult DS and partners Easter Eggs. My adult DD never wants one so I get her flowers instead.

northernplatform · 31/03/2026 23:12

Adult DC (early/mid 20s) get a big bar of Dairy Milk instead of eggs. They’re more than happy with that as they probably get more chocolate!

justasking111 · 31/03/2026 23:13

Yes until they're married. So youngest at 25 still gets one. The grandchildren get a tin Easter egg which I fill with goodies.

CharlotteSometimeslikesanafternoonnap · 31/03/2026 23:17

Mine doesn't like chocolate very much so no. However...she does still have the Easter basket she had as a toddler waiting for her on Easter morning and hidden mini eggs to find. I didn't do it one year and she was quite put out, so the tradition continues. She's 20...

Grumpynan · 31/03/2026 23:19

Of course I buy all the children and their partners and grandchildren. They are smaller this year because they have become silly money (imo) and I now have to buy 17 ! DH pulled a face in Tesco when he saw them in the trolley, but when he saw his randoms one he kept his opinions to himself 😂

Mumwithbaggage · 31/03/2026 23:20

If dcs are here they join in an Easter Egg Hunt. You have now made me feel very guilty I won't be seeing nos 1 and 2 till after Easter. They are 32 and 30 so I'm sure they'll be OK but am off to check out websites,

I've bought for all my adult dc and their partners...

Same ☺️

LBFseBrom · 31/03/2026 23:22

Yes I do, I only have one child (47 this year), but nearly all the Easter eggs I have bought are for adults. They are always well received too.

elliejjtiny · 31/03/2026 23:23

I do, but I still have children who are actually children as well as the one who is an adult.

Copperoliverbear · 31/03/2026 23:24

If they want one.

DreamyJade · 31/03/2026 23:26

I don’t now they’re adults, but we’ve never celebrated Easter (apart from eggs) even when they were children. It’s just a normal Sunday to us.

Comefromaway · 31/03/2026 23:27

No because Ds has never liked chocolate & Dd asked me not to this year. So I’ve bought 22 year old Ds an Easter themed cup of jelly sweets & 24 year old dd nespresso pods (she usually buys own brand)

Blarn · 31/03/2026 23:31

I am 41 and I would love an Easter egg off my parents! It almost seems ridiculous typing it as they do so much for us but I really would like an egg.

Bigwelshlamb · 31/03/2026 23:31

Yes of course... Christmas stockings too x

Wishuponabell · 31/03/2026 23:38

My kids are early teens so they get one anyway from me. I would still buy them one as adults because they'll always be my kids, no matter how old they are.

However, I draw the line at having to buy for my adult nephew. My SIL said something last Easter when I decided to stop buying one for my 25 year old nephew (but still bought for his 11 and 12 year old brother and sister).

I just said that they were old enough to buy their own Easter Egg. I mean, how long does she expect me to continue buying him an Easter Egg for? Until he's 50?! It's fine if she wants to buy her kid an egg into adulthood but I don't think she should expect the extended family to do so!

Bbq1 · 31/03/2026 23:43

Buy for dm, dh and ds aged 20. I also do my son an Easter egg hunt which is a tradition and just a bit of lighthearted fun.

bitterexwife · 31/03/2026 23:44

My granny buys for me - I’m 40

JustAnotherWhinger · 31/03/2026 23:44

We still do. Ours range from 25 to 7, plus we have 3yo DN living with us so eggs aplenty here.

DH’s Granny is 104. She had 15 kids (11 still surviving) and I think 53 grandchildren and she still buys Easter eggs and selection boxes at Christmas.
I wrapped 90odd selection boxes for her at Christmas for Grandkids, great grandkids and godchildren. She was as sharp as a tack ticking everyone off her list and loves it.

DH, his siblings and cousins were fuming years ago when their parents decided that Aunts/uncles shouldn’t do eggs. MIL had DH and BIL and had over 40 eggs on her table when she made the suggestion 😂

Evenstar · 31/03/2026 23:47

5 adult DC plus son in law, I will always buy them an egg if we are seeing them, if not I transfer £5 each for them to treat themselves. I always buy them all a selection pack at Christmas too.

Davros · 31/03/2026 23:50

Yes I’ve got 23 year old DD one. They are the Easter equivalent of Christmas crackers, can be shite but everyone loves them

AnotherDogWontHurt · 01/04/2026 00:03

Yes, we buy them a few eggs and other gifts.

PandaG · 01/04/2026 00:12

Yes, bought them for adult DC and partner. In fact bought 2 each, as 2 small were more chocolate for less money in Aldi, due to how much they discounted the little ones. Had intended to get small egg plus bar of chocolate, but price per gram the eggs were better value so 2 eggs it was!

Trainup · 01/04/2026 00:13

1potato2potato3potato · 31/03/2026 22:06

Love this ! I'll probably always do it.
My friend said I'm nuts and pointless, i replied so you're telling me you wouldn't like to get a egg as an adult. She said oh yeah I would but I never do so just assumed it wasn't the done thing. So I gave her an egg from my stash - probably started something there.

What is pointless about an Easter egg?!

biggestcatmom · 01/04/2026 00:18

Yes DS1 and DDIL2b and also DS2, I usually buy an egg for DH but we are going on holiday on Easter Monday
