What song did you walk down the aisle to?

My DD is getting married next year and we have been discussing songs for her to walk down the aisle to.

She is quite 'alternative' and not at all 'soppy' (her words not mine!) and doesn't want anything too lovey dovey.

So what did you chose and why? I may get some sneaky good ideas for her 😜

For reference when I married my DH I walked down to Chaka Khan 'Love Me Still'

Highland Cathedral played on the bagpipes by my 12 yr old nephew

I came out to this with a friend's son playing. It's beautiful

I came in to 'Gabriel's Oboe' from a film called The Mission. It's a beautiful piece of music and was played beautifully. I thought it was the perfect thing because I play the oboe and love the sound. It wasn't until my son was a few years old that I realised it was still more perfect because I had called my son Gabriel.

I came in to this too. Couldn't stop crying 😭. So beautiful

Walked down the aisle to A Thousand Years sung beautifully by a choir, and we were piped back up to Mairi’s Wedding.

My friend had Madonna’s Crazy For You on the piano.

A friend had "your my best friend" by an Irish folk group, which was really endearing.

(It was a civil ceremony, not a church)

I walked down to the piano version of Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. First dance was that song too. So we started and ended the celebration with the same song

Scottish wedding so we had a piper, he played Highland Cathedral and Marie’s Wedding but I can’t remember which won I walked into and which one we walked back to 😅😂🥰

Edited to add that we got married outside on the banks of a loch in the grounds of a castle a beautiful but rare sunny September day so this felt very apt 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

No idea. Our selected music “didn’t work” on the CD player, so we just had some random classical music. It made no difference to be honest.

Toto - Hold the Line (love isn’t always on time)
We took a bit of getting to the marriage 14 years. He was more in love but didn’t want the marriage bit and I was less in love but did want the commitment.
Perfect song, perfect words for us!

Got married in a Catholic Church so some religious music played on the organ.

She had the piano version

Edited

I really like this. I think I like this more than the piano version. I love both though. I have linked these to my DD to see. I think its a great idea.

Her and her fiance are both into fantasy/goth/rock type stuff so this would be lovely.

Thank you for the suggestion.

DH wanted the theme from Laurel and Hardy, but I said a firm no.

We had Pachelbel's Canon in D instead.

I had the same song as Phoebe in Friends, she had steel drums played, I wanted a recording of it done it guitar. My late step dad spent hours listening the same song on uTube to find a musician that didn't rub the strings as they played
