Do you have any funny names for random things in your house that have just stuck?

Today I shouted from upstairs asking DH to put the washing out. I said to him that "the spin-a-poo-poo is upstairs" as if this is the most normal sentence in the world! It's only when I thought about it that I laughed. If anyone outside of this house heard me they'd think I'd lost my marbles. Our children (now 14, 16 and 19) called the laundry basket the spin-a-poo-poo when they were little and it shall now forever be known as that 😂

Are we just a little weird alone?!

Everything ends in juice following years of having my best friend’s kids over summer for many years, so tea-juice, food-juice etc.

Our Air Fryer is called the Chip Robot

Ducky bumps rather than goose pimples.

Somehow that really gives me the willies in a Blair Witch kind of way.

Our oven gloves are known as 'The Piggies'.
(They have ducks on, but we used to have a pair with pigs on).

We have a Welsh dresser we’ve always called Wendy. No idea how it started.

Jam rats and jam rags are our affectionate names for tampons and sanitary towels!

Regularly we ask where the thingy is, could be for most things!

We have Burglars Corner
its a shelf within easy view of the entrance where we keep passports, bank cards, cash etc

DP’s family call the remote ‘the commander’. Absolutely honked with laughter when I finally figured out what the chuff they were talking about.

A sandwich is always a sammidge, thanks to youngest DC. Things are also wubbish when not going so well.

Anything orange coloured is norse, except for an actual orange which is obviously orange, courtesy of eldest DC.

Breakfast is grek-grek and dinner is dinder. Owls are wols, pandas are pan-pans and snails are snay-wols. I don't know why we talk the way my DSIS used to when she was a toddler.

First robot vac was a he and he was called Robbo (the robovac), the new one is a she and she is called Effie (eufy), it even says so on the App. Car is called Leafy (pretty obvious) and the camper van Bertie Bwwbag. Previous campervan was Billy Bongo.

I call the dishwasher the dishy. The washing machine is the Tub, probably after the old twintub from my very early childhood memory.

My DSIS has The Cats' Toybox and thinks nothing of it. And she used to have a spare room, but now it's Mollie's Room. Mollie is an ungrateful cat who occasionally bites people, especially DSIS, who feeds her.

Hate to disagree, but it's actually the Doofer.

My Mam always calls the Christmas turkey, Oscar

Tumble dryer is Tumble Fluff, dishwasher is dishswisher.

TV remote name was a great topic of conversation at university when lots of households collided! Changerover, doofer, buttons, box, channel changer. Plonky is what we use!

We have a kitchen cupboard called Bag End! It’s a really deep cupboard that goes around a corner and under the stairs, but you have to crawl through it on your knees because it’s about chest height all the way back, so you’d have to be a Hobbit to stand up in there.

It’s also where we keep our shopping bags.
