Bored of Peace? Let's Mambo! - Trump Thread #158
JoshLymanSwagger · 28/03/2026 04:13

He's been opening and closing his mouth with words falling out again. C&P this from Sky News:

Donald Trump has now finished speaking and taking questions at an event in Maimi and, unsurprisingly, the Iran war featured prominently.
Here's a round-up of the key things he said:

  • Iran are "not the bully any longer" in the Middle East and are "on the run";
  • Trump called on Iran to re-open the Strait of Hormuz, or, as he called it, the "Strait of Trump";
  • Iran is the only country "where nobody wants to lead";
  • Iran sent the US 10 oil ships "to make up for their misstatement" about not being involved in negotiations;
  • He repeated his disappointment with NATO and said the alliance made "a big mistake" by not sending military support.

Can't remember whether I wrote it on here, but I've been calling it the Strait of Trump to DH for a couple of wks. I didn't think 🍊🌮 was listening in!🤦🏻‍♀️

RedTagAlan · 28/03/2026 05:11

What I notice about the Miami event mentioned above is that it is in Miami. But in the same day he is at a WH cabinet meeting and a farmers thing.

Is he setting a record for time travelling on AF1 ? Almost every time he opens his mouth he is in a different place. ( Yes I know, 2xWH yesterday).

A couple of things I notice really. He appears really averse to sitting at his desk and doing any work. And also, he totally loves the fuss of travelling on AF1. The whole retinue with him, at his beck and call. The roads closed and motorcade as he goes from airport to venue to airport to golf.

I have this vision in my head of the "Iran desk" of advisors. The " Jack Ryan" analyst. " I need to get this intel to POTUS". " Sorry, he is travelling"

Does he ever actually travel anywhere that isn’t Washington or Florida? Like has he actually gone West of the Appalachians during this term? He’s spent more time in Scotland than California for sure.
Thing is when he’s on AF1, they can very tightly control who is around him/what they see or report on. Likewise at MAL and in the WH. He’s not the sort of POTUS doing walkabouts or meet and greets - everything is being done in controlled, familiar environments.
Now whether this is to conceal just how bad his health is or is a function of paranoia about assassination or is just him being bone idle and not understanding that being POTUS is about more than speeches and golf…

He gets about the US for sure. Red states.

TiredCatLady · 28/03/2026 08:23

I just had a look - he’s been to Texas and to Michigan but really, very few states since taking office this time. Nothing past the Midwest, mostly just shuttling back and forth between Washington and Florida.
It was the whole farmers coming to him at the WH that got me thinking - like why wouldn’t he go out to e.g. Kansas or Idaho? Our survey says he’s actually never been to Idaho, even during his first term.
Oooo that would be a fun game - asking him to name all 50 states!

For signing all those dollar bills.

What is so startling still to me, at least, though I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, is how his priorities for Presidential behaviour are so screwed. He has absolutely no idea of how someone in that position should comport themselves, and has no regard for anyone but himself and his corrupt family and mates. He is a disgusting specimen of the human race, the lowest of the low, and yet he’s been elected not once, but twice, to what is arguably the highest office in the world. I understand the concept of respect for the Office of the President, but with a president like this one, I really think kow-towing to him as many European and other leaders feel they have to, for the sake of protocol (and in Britain’s case the “special relationship” which hasn’t existed for decades, if ever, really), is the wrong thing to do. I do so wish other world leaders would ignore him and stand up to him in the same way Spain is doing.
(Rant over, just so fed up with this shitshow.)

Yeah not travelling as much as during his first term - plus doing less onerous events and not starting his 'working day' until lunchtime have all been reported

He's 79 and not in great health so guess it's to be expected

Er, Florida, California, Minnesota, New York, Canada, Venezuela, Greenland...

RedTagAlan · 28/03/2026 08:58

One thing for sure, he stays a lot at his properties, so he can charge the SS and the government staff. I recall that when he plays golf, he charges his SS security for golf buggy hire. And when he does a launch event at a club, he charges for it.

And even though there is perfectly good accommodation in DC for visiting dignitaries, in Marduro Largo, he will be charging.

logicisall · 28/03/2026 09:05

We only have a few days till the 31st, (Polymarket betting) so Trump will need to go all in, obliterate Iran, then declare victory so his family and pals can collect their winnings.

At 79, he's living proof that age doesn't necessarily equate to wisdom.

I'm waiting for the Houthis to react. It's the shoe that hasn't dropped yet and they could potentially close off the second stretch that oil flows through.

Also, has anyone picked up on what the Iranian (Government) hacker groups are doing? They've been warming up with the release of Kushner's Gmail files this week to humiliate him and they say there's more to come.

Middle East crisis live: Yemen’s Houthis claim first attack on Israel since outbreak of Iran war and warn ‘operations will continue’

Israeli military said early on Saturday it had identified a launch of a missile from Yemen, hours after Iran-aligned Houthis said they were prepared to take action

I've only seen Kash Patel's hack. Did they do Kushner too?

I remember when they hacked the Trump campaign in the lead up to the election but a lot of mainstream media declined to disclose what was in them because they felt conflicted about the source. I hope there are fewer scruples this time around.

RedTagAlan · 28/03/2026 10:06

I don't think the Houthi are a big danger. I recall when they were firing at ships that it was mentioned most of what they had was from the Yemeni government. Older Chinese missiles. Some Iranian missiles of course, but I don't think they make any, I think most of what they did have has been used or destroyed.

Apologies: I am getting my grifting idiots mixed up. Patel was embarrassed this week. Kushner was mentioned as part of an intercepted phone call by foreign intelligence last month, according to an NSI whistleblower. I suspect it will come out in the future.
