It's the "AI" they are packing into drones that is the game changer.
(Obviously it's neither artificial nor intelligent, but we'll leave that to the snake oil scamsters and their dim following)
This acts as a force multiplier. Properly done* you can have one operator fielding ... 100 drones ? Each drone makes it's way (ideally unpredictably) to where it's ready for action, then the next available operator takes over and - boom - exactly where needed.
My DM saw V1s over South London. Luckily the V2s were incredibly resource-heavy and the crumbling Reich could not deliver the quantity (or quality) needed.
(For nerdy types, NASAs evaluation of the Concorde engineering requirements scoped it as being more sophisticated that Apollo. And if you ever chance to see a museum Concorde - or the TSR2 at Cosford - you may spot some intriguing spaces where something has been removed. That something is still very very very classified and not something the US have .... )
