The fall out from this is basically who on earth would buy US kit to protect themselves from Iran when even the US - with US kit - cannot protect itself from Iran ????

The myth that the US can protect you has been shattered forever.

Cue a future of reduced arms sales and faith doing business with the US.

Oo and Lavrov, for whom I have a particular loathing.
I'm sure there's many more but being expunged of that lot would be a start.

I'd also invite Kushner, Witkoff, Miller, Bannon, Mike Johnson, Hegseth and Regime Barbie. Let's make it a party.

I can't open the link, but no need to really.

Because thinking about it, drone warfare is just an update on the WW2 sniper. And how a single snipers can deny an entire area to a battalion. But with snipers, they can be spotted when they fire, and the big guns demolish their spot. But even then, the threat of snipers prevents an officer having a cuppa on the patio outside the mess, or a mechanic fixing a plane.

Drones, I think. are over the horizon snipers. And they can destroy the plane the mechanic is working on. And blowing up the church towers where the sniper would hide wont work. because now the sniper can drive his kit in a Transit van to a spot 100 miles from the airfield, and snipe from there. Very difficult to defend against.

I did read something yesterday that suggested the US/Israel could blow up tunnel entrances but they are pretty much functional again within 2-3 days because the Iranians can just dig out the collapsed entrances. No idea how true that is but it doesn’t sound implausible.
Not to mention the fact that there are a lot of places to hide missile launch sites in the mountains.

I’m assuming this is part of the reason nobody has done anything this stupid before.

In other news... it looks likely that TSA will be paid soon so ICE can fuck off back to murdering US citizens (and non citizens).

The Senate voted early Friday to fund the Department of Homeland Security except for its immigration enforcement and deportation operations, raising the prospect of an end to a weeks long partial shutdown that has strained federal workers and caused long waits at airports.
The measure does not include funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement or the Border Patrol, reflecting a proposal that Democrats had offered for weeks as they refused to fund federal immigration enforcement operations without adding new restrictions on agents.
“Senate Democrats were clear: no blank check for a lawless ICE and Border Patrol,” Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York and the minority leader, said after the measure passed.
The bill must still be considered by the House, which could vote on it as soon as Friday. It was unclear whether the measure would pass that chamber, where Speaker Mike Johnson holds a narrow Republican majority. A number of hard-right Republicans have criticized the Senate’s approach and oppose a funding bill that does not include new money for immigration enforcement.
Should the House approve the measure and President Trump sign it, the deal would end a negotiating standoff that caused the longest partial government shutdown on record.
The Senate’s agreement, which it passed in a voice vote at around 2:20 a.m., came hours after Mr. Trump said that he woulddirect the homeland security secretary to pay Transportation Security Administration agents, who have worked without pay since funding for the department lapsed on Feb. 14.

If your military strategy is based on having a lot of resources all together (because it's cheaper*) then you aren't really in the market for a war where your enemy rather unsportingly uses countless small operation units to reshape the conflict dynamically as engagements are prosecuted.

Not sure the cocktail idea would work due to those clever paper caps on their glasses. I wonder if he has Eric taste his drinks first, just to make sure...

Let's not forget to include DJr and Eric on the invites, by the way.

It's the "AI" they are packing into drones that is the game changer.

(Obviously it's neither artificial nor intelligent, but we'll leave that to the snake oil scamsters and their dim following)

This acts as a force multiplier. Properly done* you can have one operator fielding ... 100 drones ? Each drone makes it's way (ideally unpredictably) to where it's ready for action, then the next available operator takes over and - boom - exactly where needed.

My DM saw V1s over South London. Luckily the V2s were incredibly resource-heavy and the crumbling Reich could not deliver the quantity (or quality) needed.

(For nerdy types, NASAs evaluation of the Concorde engineering requirements scoped it as being more sophisticated that Apollo. And if you ever chance to see a museum Concorde - or the TSR2 at Cosford - you may spot some intriguing spaces where something has been removed. That something is still very very very classified and not something the US have .... )

*"Properly done". Guess what Ukraine have perfected ?

More of a George Washington really.

Not a Thomas Jefferson. He raped the women he owned.

RedTagAlan · 27/03/2026 14:06

Trump needs to put his pal Bibi back in his box me thinks. Sky feed:

"IDF issues 'urgent' evacuation warning to Iranian city ahead of strikes
The Israeli military has issued an "urgent warning" to Iranians in the central city of Arak, ahead of planned airstrikes.
The order, posted on the Israel Defence Force's Persian-language X account, covers "all individuals located in the northwest of the city of Arak and those located in the Kheirabad industrial area in the Arak region".
"In the coming hours, the IDF will operate in the area, as it has in recent days across Iran, to strike military infrastructure of the Iranian regime," it says.
"For your safety and well-being, we ask that you immediately leave the area indicated on the map."

Note to IDF... no internet.

I thought he was a great friend to the black community. He's done more for them than any other president. And Obama wasn't anywhere near as black as Donald J Trump.

Having recently learned about the origins of the Ku Klux Klan (a remedial spelling club that went terribly astray 😀) I am amazed that the wotsit weirdo hasn't already plundered their thesaurus for more awards for himself.

Yup. The Shaheed has a delta wing and a mini jet engine. Like mini cruise missiles. The vids I have seen are the coptor type. These are the ones that buzz around airfields looking for targets. They use both.

You'd have a true swarm. Loads of drones being controlled from a quasi autonomous hub.

As I said, what do people think Ukraine has been doing for 4 years ? Making TikTok videos and issuing memecoins ?

Meanwhile Amazon appear to be very coy as to why they waived AWS fees for March for the UAE

As with US military expertise ... if AWS can't guarantee their offerings, what use are they ? (Obviously he UK will form a queue of one to buy up all the AWS it can. But that's because the UK hasn't done tech since it became illegal).

No idea about Amazon, but Ukraine have developed different methods for the different drones apparently. Nets and AK marksmen for the coptor sort, and drone hunter drones for the Shaheed.

The west has nowt. And they are using patriots for both it seems.

Should the House approve the measure and President Trump sign it

Scrotus has vowed to not sign any legislation that hits his desk unless that fucking SAVE Act gets passed first. But in actuality if a POTUS doesn't sign a bill within 10 days that makes that unsigned legislation law. But he's too stupid to know that and apparently thinks if he doesn't sign it, it's 'dead'.

So we'll see what actually happens. Will he veto or will he TACO by letting the 10 days expire?
