Can’t help feeling sorry for Victoria Beckham

I’m not interested in VB at all for fame etc but even at a distance I can’t help but feel sorry for her as a mother having comments thrown about by her estranged son and his wife. Latest is the DiL saying her parents see the Beckham lad as like their son. That must be so hurtful. I can’t imagine being in that situation. The connection with your child is so deep and she seems no different in that respect so it must be awful. I hope there is a way to mend it long term.

I do feel for her a bit yea. I think of myself as a mum in that situation and it wouldn’t be nice.

No one really knows what’s gone on. I think he’s jumped from the frying pain into the fire anyway with that dreadful wife of his.

Some of the nasty comments on here are so depressing. Why can’t we just have a chat on MN anymore where there is doubt or mulling something over together. It’s all straight for the jugular at everyone.

I have no real interest in the Beckhams, but I honestly don’t think any amount of money could protect someone from the hurt of their child rejecting them, publicly or not.

You assume she is not at fault.

I’d question the wisdom of the way they’ve raised their kids in the public eye. I don’t think it was a wise choice.

If you really fell sorry for her, why stimulate discussion of those issues on a forum, where anyone could predict there will be nasty comments?

Better, surely, to give her the dignity of looking in then other direction and letting them get on it whatever difficulties they are having - and to be perfectly honest from all the "MIL ruining my wedding" and "Am i justified in going NC?" threads on here, the Beckhams sound like your average MN family to me in terms of dysfunctionalty.
