When did your DS catch up with you height wise?

How tall are you and at what age did your DS catch with you?
(Specifically DSs as they typically tend to grow taller than their mothers)

I'm 5'7 and just realised this morning that DS just turned 12 was eyeball to eyeball with me.
Older DDs are 5'9 and 5'8.

Same height as me at 12.5 and overtook me a few months before turning 13.

I'm 5'10. All three of my boys overtook me by the time they turned 14. They're all taller than their dad, too.

Mine has just turned 13 and is 6ft 🥴 he was probably 10 or 11 when he overtook me in height (I’m 5ft 6)

I’m 5’3” and mine was about 13. It was amazing the height difference between his peers in the early teen years, there was over a foot difference between his best mates at one point. He was 5’11 by age 17 and might have grown a smidge more since then.

My DS is nearly 16. He has just overtaken me and is currently around 5'7. I'm 5'6. He hasn't really started puberty properly yet though - voice hasn't broken, no body hair etc.

Boys in our family tend to hit puberty late. DS1 was the same and is now 6'2 at 20.

I’m 5’5” and he overtook me at 12 I think, and this year at 15 has overtaken his dad at 6’3”. DH is 6’2”. DS is still growing.

DD (his twin) overtook me at age 14, she about an inch taller than me so I’m the shortest person in the house as of a couple of years.

I'm 5ft2, DS caught up to me at around 12 and towered above me, much to his amusement, not long after.

I remember the midwife telling me he was a long baby and would be tall, at the time I thought, yeah whatever.

He's now 6ft4....

I’m 5’6” and I’d say they both overtook me at about 13 / 14. Their dad is 6’2” and they haven’t quite hit that - the eldest blames intensive sports training in his teens for not being taller (claims he was always tired and hungry but boy could he empty a well stocked fridge of chicken, eggs, milk, yoghurt and avocados in seconds) and the youngest is still slowly growing at 20.

My ten year old has much bigger feet than me and is almost as tall as me. His older brother is the same size as him and same size feet. They are 2.5 years apart and constantly mistaken for twins and have been since they were very small. I’m resigned to being the teeny tiny mummy.

I'm nearly 5' 11 and ds1 was the same height as me at 13. By 14 he was 6' 3".
He didn't stop growing until about 20/21 and is now 6'8"!!!
Absolutely towers over me and his dad.

I’m 5’9 and my eldest DS went past me at 14. Youngest is 12 and has grown about 3” in the last six months and is about 5’6” now, so I don’t think it will be too long until I’m the shortest in the family!

DS1 overtook me (5'5) at 13 and half and is now 5'11 at nearly 15
DS2 is nearly 13 and is very nearly my height. He's always been ahead of his brother at the same age so fully expect him to overtake me very soon.
DD is 10 and growing like a weed. I fully expect her to overtake me before she is 13.
Their dad is over 6ft and they all have his taller genes.

I’m 5ft 10 and my DS was 13 when he overtook me. He’s 17 now and he’s now the same height as DH who is 6ft 3. He overtook him in shoe size some time ago!

Thanks for asking this. I’d been wondering the same thing. My DS is 11 and about shoulder height on me (he’s almost 5’, and I’m 5’9’’) but I’ve recently started noticing that quite a few of his friends are small-adult sized, i.e. 5’2’’+. Some of them have fairly short mums and so are close in height.
I would expect my DSs to grow over a foot yet (DH over six feet) so 5’7’’ at 12 sounds very tall. I’m sure he will have a few inches on you soon!

My 5 year old is shoulder height to me. I’m 5 foot 1. Assume it’ll be around 10/11 as he’s very tall

My 12 yo DS is 4’11 (measured the other day). I’m 5’6 so I can’t imagine it’ll be before 13? Although he needs new school trousers which I only bought in Sept

Just about as he was turning 15.

I was 5'5 then although sadly seem to be shrinking

He's 6' now.

Not yet, I’m 5ft 9 but his feet are bigger are almost 2 sizes bigger than mine 😆

Both DH & I grew late though

I’m 5’9 and he’s 13 and still nowhere near but his dad is shorter than me? He’s gone past me in shoe size 😳

I think he was about 12, but I'm only 5 ft 2 in.

He's now 6ft 1 in and no longer growing.

Im 5"7 and DS overtook me at 14. During lock down he grew at an uncanny rate, to the point he grew an inch in a week, and had stretch marks. He's now 18 and 6'6" (DH is 6ft)! I love hugs from him, but he did manage to break 2 of his grandpa's ribs just by hugging him...

I'm 5'7". Ds overtook me aged 11.

I'm 5 foot 9 and my 13 year old ds is very slightly taller I noticed Wednesday night

My dds, his older sisters, are 5 foot 9.5 an 5 foot 10. My DH is 6 foot 2, I'm guessing hel probably be taller than him eventually and by Xmas be towering above me the speed at which he's grown. Needs the next size up school trousers from the ones I'd bought for going back after Xmas as he'd already grown out the ones from August. So grew out the first pair in four months and next size in just under 2.5 months.

Everyone seems so tall!

I'm 5ft 2, and ds (11) is about up to my nose so maybe 4ft 7? Past me in shoe size though

DH is only 5ft 9 though. Hoping ds will end up taller than that at least.
