Trump said Jackson didn’t like Obama - I don’t know where he got that from - though tbh I was surprised at the lack of nasty from Trump about Jackson considering his usual types of comments.

I guess he may revert to his nasty normal now though, especially as it seems Obama has mentioned the dire state of the US at the funeral. And good on him.

I would not worry about this E-6B plane being out and about.

I have never really understood radio waves and how they can bounce about the earth, but this plane is just about physics that no amount of tech can get around.

Only VLF (Very low frequency) radio signals can get through the sea to communicate with subs at depth. and these waves need really long arial wires ( I think kms, long- remember Rugby radio station). Satellites can't do it, but these planes can. And these waves bounce about inside the earths ionosphere differently at different times of day, depending on where the sun is.

And now the US is sinking ships with it's subs, this plane is likely just about being able to send them out orders without the subs surfacing and giving away their position, " Iranian ship at position XYZ, go sink it". That sort of thing.

So not Nuke Armageddon, just sending orders to subs at "blind spots" in the ocean.

Flat earthers will deny all this of course, but hey ho. They still can't explain where the sun goes at night. These radio waves come up now and again in flat earth debates. The HAM radio experts do that stuff. I stick to " So where does the sun go at night ?"

To add to my post above re Trump claiming US missile production about to be quadrupled. I was replying to a post on another thread where a poster was asking " how do THEY know how many missiles they have. I done a quick search and got this. From Jan this year.

"A sweeping seven‑year framework agreement reached aims to boost annual output from roughly 600 interceptors to as many as 2,000, marking one of the most significant expansions of US missile manufacturing in decades."

So, Lockheed Martin will take SEVEN years to go from 600 interceptors per year to 2000.

And note this :"With its ability to intercept ballistic, cruise, hypersonic, and other airborne threats, the Patriot system is a cornerstone of the defense strategies of the United States and 17 partner nations. "

So that current 2k a year current output is sold to 17 nations.

And Trump casually claims "quadruple".

Anyone who has worked in manufacturing can smell his BS from miles away.

To me that explains Lebanon by the way. Isreal's Iron dome is going to struggle to get interceptors, so they are just flattening Lebanon instead.

Sending $1million missiles after $50,000 drones is not sustainable.

In an ideal world you would have developed a comprehensive strategy to deliver 90% elimination of such drones at a cost of $10,000 per drone. Which Ukraine has done.

I think they have held the cards since day one, and that is why nobody has tried to invade/ defeat them.

I saw a statistic. The latest Patriot system has a success rate of something like 175 intercepts out of 180 attempts, with ballistic missiles. So statistically, fire 180 and 5 get through. Ballistic missiles are easier to hit than drones, because ballistics have a predictable path. Drones change direction.

And once the Patriots are used up, especially when "wasted" against drones (small warheads) , the defender is near defenseless. They could fire WW2 era V2s, after that. Or in the case of Hezbollah against Isreal, their rockets made from water pipes and fueled by sugar.

I don't think it is the cost of the drone that matters. It's the value of the target. If the defender uses up their patriots and THADDS protecting hotels and the like, eventually the "essentials" such as airfields will be left wide open.

The PRC has had the same pre drone era missile doctrine for decades by the way, Fire thousands of missiles at a capital ship, and it just needs one hit. Hence the PLA rocket force. Now, as you say. drones have changed warfare, as Ukraine knows.

And these drones can be loaded into the back of a box van and fired from there. So is the plan to target every box van ?
