This is a real video from the official White House account on a war that is currently killing people. I don’t know how the US is going to come back from this.
The post was “JUSTICE THE AMERICAN WAY. 🇺🇸 🔥”

The reaction choices are not adequate. We need (at least):

😱😡and the vomit one that's not even an option here.

RafaistheKingofClay · 06/03/2026 18:00

I’m guessing the IOC are breathing a sigh of relief they allowed the Russians & Belarusians back into the paralympics now. Having to chuck the US out for starting a war within an Olympic period could be awkward.

I looked at this thing.

Seems to me the jury is out on which is more chaotic and unstructured: the ad or the White House team.

What is it trying to say?

Superficially, hip and cool. And part of the chaotic chum of click bait to distract from the Epstein files/job numbers/gas prices.

Cancellation of Army exercise fuels speculation about Mideast troop deployments

The elite 82nd Airborne Division, which specializes in ground combat and other fraught missions, is awaiting new orders after the unexpected change of plans.

https://bsky.app/profile/chadbourn.bsky.social/post/3mgft4potkc2c

"The 82nd Airborne Division ("All-American") is an elite, rapid-reaction parachute infantry division of the U.S. Army based at Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg), North Carolina. As part of the XVIII Airborne Corps, it specializes in joint forcible entry operations, capable of deploying within 18 hours to conduct ground combat or secure, critical objectives" (US Army website)

So much for 'no boots on the ground'.

I did recognise Braveheart, and was puzzled why it was supposed to be showing the US greatness.

I see a lot of the choices are not as relevant as they might have been - not sure if it’s better or worse than the picture of Trump dumping piles of shite on folk - but it’s pretty similar on levels of wtf is he thinking and even more tasteless imo.

Someone else must be doing the content creation - wonder how much directive input trump has, hopefully complete control as otherwise just left wondering how there’s more than one person even thinking these things up - mind boggled in a bad way - yet again.

Justsaynonow · 06/03/2026 18:13

I saw a clip from some msm outlet yesterday (sorry can't find it now) showing a variety of senators/reps/hegseth and trump himself saying how long the war could last - random #'s of days, weeks etc.

The cynical part of me thinks they're trying to drum up the betting business and provide plausible deniability for the insider trading that will benefit from accurately identifying the end of the war as they did the beginning.

"Some accounts are being suspected of insider trading, particularly as Donald Trump Jr., the son of the U.S. President is also a shareholder in Polymarket, and may be involved."

That sounds scary to me - or would it be expected as a defensive manoeuvre in case?

The White House stunned social media users Wednesday when it posted a video mixing real footage of the missile strikes in Iran with footage from the video game Call of Duty, set to an instrumental version of Childish Gambino’s song “Bonfire.”

I always understood it was Afghanistan’s terrain that made helped make ops impossible to conclude with an outright win. Iran is similar but also bigger.
My understanding and so my thoughts of relevance could be well out though.

If this was actually what does appeal to citizens of the US and rouse ‘patriotism’ then I’d have to be concerned about their mental ages/comprehension skills.

I think it’s more what appeals to Trump and the above obviously applies there.

What do the military personnel make of it though - particularly those losing some of their troops.

Edited - to try and clarify that I don’t think most people are this dumb

Without being snarky, what is the point of your war ? It's illuminating that the victors in a war always knew what it was. And until they did, they weren't the victors.

This is why invasions are so so so so so so so difficult. Yes, you can rush in, "Blitzkrieg" if you like. But having done that, what next ? Unless you can cleanly decapitate and impose your own immediate administration, you haven't really "won".

In the impossible event the Nazis had managed to occupy and control Britain, there were auxiliary units (sort of SOE:UK) tasked with harassing them. I think it was Alice Roberts in a recent documentary that found a hidden message drop that a vicar had prepared for use in the event.

And Iran has had years to arrange this sort of defence.

Definitely yes - and I appreciate that point that victory may be defined only by an apparent victor - so maybe I’m just baffling myself trying to understand what’s occurring and what may occur - particularly in light of who started this of course!

I think Trump has now finally defined an end goal (for today!) that he wants an ‘acceptable’ leader in place. I mean I know that is also fraught with so many questions and difficulties.

I know he can tell the military what to do, but surely whomever of the military takes such instructions to pass down would have wanted a ‘goal’ to the operation, war, whatever to enable planning and so many other things I have no clue about.

Maybe Netanyahu was more specific.

Maybe it’s just very rudimentary- go and bomb the carp out of them and I’ll let you know when to stop.

True. But do we think that Scrotus or Kegsbreath are at all savvy about Iranian geography? Hell they probably couldn't find Topeka on a map, let alone Tehran. I think it would be more like them to stick a pin in a map and say "Send them there!!" just because they can. Hopefully wiser heads will countermand the order rule the day.

I can only bring myself to briefly scan this thread as my sole news source on the insane misadventure, so please excuse me if this has been asked, has the newly convened Board of Peace yet ventured an opinion on it? Any comment from Mr Blair trawling his memory for clues from previous enterprises?

I've only skim read that article which seems to have great reasoning. The reason I'm skeptical is that the world might be playing chess, but Trump never graduated beyond draughts (and that's being charitable, I suspect snakes and ladders without the snakes is more his level).

His advisors aren't any better.

I think he's gone gung ho to distract from the Epstein files and the Clintons evidence, but bitten off more than he can chew and is now wriggling to get off the hook.

Obama is giving the eulogy at Jesse Jackson's celebration of life.

He is such a great and inspirational speaker.
