It was a good day to bury bad news.

Claiming that he didn't understand the depths to which APCO would go to doesn't wash.
Not only did he order this vile report, on receipt he then spread lies about the journalists involved having Russia links. He then named them in emails to intelligence officials.

Good to know that one of the investigative journalists involved has vowed to hold him to account, "even if our weak and supine prime minister" will not.

Reds under the beds. This government loathes freedom of the press in a more insidious way. They'd like to ban social media, vpns, twitter Etc and leave journalists completely in the dark

"Mad Zac" being interviewed by Kuennsberg this morning condemned the attack on Iran on the basis that its leaders were already at the negotiating table and the attack will only make matters worse.

What are you listening to, Eastern?

BBC News on Sounds, it looks like it’s just playing Laura Kussenberg’s show as radio version.

Utterly disgusted by Starmer and the non actions of the Government of the United Kingdom towards supporting any requests for use of Air Bases or Tactical action. This, has got to be lowest point in the Countries history since 1945. We have acted as if we are Ireland or Switzerland and a 'nothing to do with us' attitude which demeans our place and purpose of the last 500 years as the nation/s this island has been.

However, i actually believe it is worse than that, i think Starmer and his motley crew of cabinet members are 'vehemently' opposed to action against the IGRC and have some admiration for the control they muster over their citizens. Starmer though is a coward so is unable to condemn the US or Trump at the United Nations, so just says nothing or comes out a few hours later stating we have planes in the sky. At least Polansky and Corbyn show what they are 'dangerous' extremists but not cowards who are trying to appease a party that has lost all sense of a moral compass, or right to govern.

It's painful listening to John Healey on Camilla Tominey.

TheNuthatch · 01/03/2026 10:04

Just listening to Healey being interviewed by Camilla Tominey. He isn't doing very well. 😬

TheNuthatch · 01/03/2026 10:05

I just posted about this as well.

It's painful.

So much squirming.

Bit daft to send him out on the media rounds. Its obvious what the questions would be. I like Healey, but that was toe curling.

It's painful listening to John Healey on Camilla Tominey.

He looked extremely uncomfortable, to say the least.

Painful.

He should just say forget it I quit ask Starmer.

He can’t answer because Starmer won’t do as Australia and Carney have done even with similar govs.

TheNuthatch · 01/03/2026 10:10

Agree Eastern. I felt sorry for him.

Priti Patel coming on soon.

TheNuthatch · 01/03/2026 10:32

Former head of MI6 also not happy with the government's response.

Appeasement never works. They will attack us if they're able to, and not attack us if we can prevent it. That's all.

The only way to prevent attacks is through our own military strength.

Whining that 'We're not the bad guys' would make zero difference. They've called us 'little satan' and other such names and tried to undermine our country from within for decades.

Starmer is an appeaser by nature though, so who knows what idiocy is in his mind.

I couldn’t agree more.

EasternStandard · 01/03/2026 21:14

Times Radio really good on the misplaced confidence from Labour over the by election.

What did they say? I missed all the TV and radio today.

(I need a break from the other threads so retreating here)

Yeh it’s a bit much isn’t it. I shouldn’t be surprised at the way threads go but I am. I just thought that too.

Mostly that Labour are losing so many votes in either direction and they’re in the poop really. Starmer might be collateral damage but I guess it’s still a let’s see.

EmeraldRoulette · 01/03/2026 21:36

@strawberrybubblegum I agree with you that appeasement never works but it's the only reason I can think of for him making such a specific point about that.... or it was at the time I posted it...🤔

I believe that Starmer wants to separate us from America and that's partly why there's so much going on with China.

I would always rather stand with America - I realise we don't talk about the US much on this thread, but that's very much my position.

I noticed he reiterated it very carefully again today - he really wants to to be clear about this. It starts to make me wonder even more about what he's really up to

Perhaps I am being unfair and he really believes appeasement may protect us from attacks?!

TheNuthatch · 01/03/2026 21:45

UK govt has now given the US permission to use air bases.
🙄

Good. Happy to hear it.

On the other threads, I think their tiny minds are exploding. Unable to compute recent events 😂

Parsley4321 · 01/03/2026 21:49

Is that another u turn

Starmer licked his finger and stuck it out of the window.
The incompetence is 🤯

Julen7 · 01/03/2026 21:50

Starmer’s popularity rating has dropped to -49 today, a new all time low, after the recent by election. I think if it drops much lower it will be impossible to record.
