Does anyone find going on holiday immensely stressful?

My dh and I have a stressful relationship. We are where we are and try to do our best. We have 3 kids.

I'd love to hear what it is like for other similar families getting ready for holiday so I can tell if my life is abnormally brain exploding???

I hate going on holiday. The planning, packing, cleaning house before you go, getting pet sitters. Then the stress of travel, other people urgh, no. Call.me boring but I love my home and am quite happy to stay here.

This is how I’ve started to feel the older I get. I used to enjoy the prep and build up to a holiday - now combined with all you’ve said and sharing transport with strangers (had a revolting man constantly blowing his nose and sniffing endlessly behind me last time in plane) I honestly can’t be bothered!

I also seem to end up ill every time I travel as I catch some bug on the plane/bus/in the hotel.

See i feel more generous to him now as we are here and having a great time. He really is bad at the transition bit, I think that is it as the poster described. While we are here he is doing all the shift jobs. Lugging everyone's Skis around. Popping up stairs for this or that, even yomped off to the car park in a blizzard late last night. So all is well once more...
