The Trump administration is quietly removing all the machinery which makes Title VII of the Civil Rights Act function. That's the law providing protectiton from discrimination on grounds of race, gender, religion or national origin, in hiring, firing, pay, promotions, and harassment.
Enforcing this law used to be the job of the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), but the Trump administration has sacked a load of EEOC commissioners, closed departmental offices and removed datasets about race and sex. (You wouldn't want to encourage people to notice that gender pay gap thingy, would you?) Trump has also removed laws and guidance about discrimination.
BTW this is the same EEOC we discussed above demanding university admins create and hand over lists of Jewish staff and heads of Jewish societies on campus. "To make sure they're not being discriminated against." Uh-huh.
