So if your cat's tail went in your tea...

...would you still drink it?

If the circumstances were that you were stuck on the sofa beneath two cats, one of whom rarely gets lap-time as the other pushes her off, your teen had made you a tea in a break from revising for mocks and had now gone back upstairs, and the tail only went in for a few seconds. In those circumstances would you drink it? Asking for a friend...

I would 😀

Filter through your teeth 😂 sorry - your friend’s teeth.

Yes, tell your 'friend' that Bastet the cat god would not approve of wasting tea bags.

Drink the tea

Flick the cat hair out of it.

RandomMess · 08/02/2026 15:21

Surely everything tastes better with cat hair?

I dread to think how many times I have drank my glass of water oblivious to the cat previously have supped it.

Ithinkofawittyusernamethenforgetit · 08/02/2026 15:21

I mean - your friend’s Sunday sounds idyllic - are you the jealous type?😉

TikTokker · 08/02/2026 15:21

No

saveforthat · 08/02/2026 15:23

Depends on how much of the tail and whether it was tip or arse end.

Octavia64 · 08/02/2026 15:23

Absolutely fucking not but I know where my cats have been and they are dirty little buggers.

i would not disturb the cats to get a new one. I’d wait until they moved.

your cats might be cleaner than my cats.

Snozzlemaid · 08/02/2026 15:23

Yes. And I have done so. Dcat likes to wander around my desk when I’m working and has on occasion dipped her tail into my tea.

chocciechocface · 08/02/2026 15:25

Yes, and I’d suck the end of his tail to make sure I didn’t lose a single drop.

Now how are the logistics of the arse end end working there?

QueenStevie · 08/02/2026 15:25

My cat's tail has been in my mouth often enough! He has no concept of personal space and a very floofy tail.

And I have a mug that says, "Everything tastes better with cat hair in." that I bought from the cat gift shop in York so that speaks for itself.

coffeerevelsrule · 08/02/2026 15:29

Phew - my friend will be relieved to know she is not the only one.

I wouldn't even not consider it. I must breath, eat, swally any amount of fur everyday. Good roughage Wink

99pwithaflake · 08/02/2026 15:30

Of course! My old cat is currently sat on my chest and shoving his face in my mouth 🤣

sallymonella · 08/02/2026 15:31

Absolutely 😁

KilkennyCats · 08/02/2026 15:32

You shower of absolute mingers!

The arse end is the part of the tail nearest to the cat's arse.

Where toxoplasma comes from.

Twinklewonderkins · 08/02/2026 15:34

Yep wouldn’t occur to me not to!

brightpinkchoc · 08/02/2026 15:34

Yup!

coffeerevelsrule · 08/02/2026 15:36

I don't get how the arse end of the tail would get in the tea - she didn't sit in the tea, just gently wafted her tail in.

Never mind the tea , I am thinking about the utter fury of our cats having a tea-soaked tail and they would flick the tea off contemptuously.

Then contemplate how much blood I'd need to mop up (mine) if I dared to wipe the tail !

shellyleppard · 08/02/2026 15:37

If no obvious floating hairs then yes without a doubt 🧐

Walker1178 · 08/02/2026 15:37

Well, it depends.. BoyCat loves to sleep in ditches and has a marvellous bushy tail, if that dunked in I can’t imagine there would be much tea left. I’d probably leave it. Girlcat on the other hand likes to keep her delicate little tail and the rest of herself spotlessly clean so yeah, the tea would be good to go still 👍🏻
