For me it’s:

people who think that Michael Jackson isn’t a pedophile.

people who say things like “Londanistan” “Bradfordistan”

People who say “If the Holocaust is real, why do the tattoo numbers only go up to 5 digits”

OP posts:

People who drive a Tesla.

People who start a thread on Mumsnet and don't come back to it.

People who have no idea what real misogyny is, but bandy the term about and accuse other women of it anyway.

People who put bottles sideways on a supermarket conveyor belt so they roll back and forth annoyingly.

The people at my place of work who chose our new accounts software.

That'll do for starters.

Interested to know what unreal misogyny might be?

gingerninja · 06/02/2026 20:02

Anyone who is loud and only interested in their own opinions. Only enquires after other peoples thoughts because they want to disagree not because they want to understand.

SemiRetiredLoveGoddeess · 06/02/2026 20:04

People who think that people have the god given right to live in any country of the world as a choice.

People in real UK Call Centres who do not listen/are rely think and have to be told 4 or 5 times what your simple problem is about.

Wokes.

People who say heads up repeatedly.

Celebs.

carchi · 06/02/2026 20:07

When they think that anyone who does not share their point of view (political or otherwise) is an idiot.

auserna · 06/02/2026 20:16

People who can't process more than one point in an email so only address the first question/request and ignore the rest.

Oh yes, same here. Also the ones where you email asking a question of two (or more) options and you ask them to confirm whether the answer is (A) or (B) and they just reply "yes" Duh!!!! How hard is it to actually read an email?? Comprehension skills are clearly no longer being taught in schools.

HappyNannie · 06/02/2026 20:33

Reform supporters,
Trump supporters
anyone who thinks telling racist homophobia sexist insensitive stories/ jokes and if you get offended by it they followed up by saying
“ it’s only a joke 🤬
anyone who is anti vaccination,
flat earther’s,
anyone who doesn’t want everyone in the Epstein files to be treated the same way and held accountable and face the full consequences

people who forget about dyslexia/ typos / autocorrect / English not first language / poor education and think that anyone who makes a slight error in English is an idiot - nope you are the idiot

ditto for those who think that their accent is the only correct accent

On any device it underlines a word which isn't spelt correctly. My spelling isn't amazing (I have aphantasia), but I just go back and change something if it's flagged.

I shudder everytime I hear his music played in public areas. How can anyone listen to it? I was on a bus today and one of his songs came on the radio. Ughhh

Pitstopperils · 06/02/2026 20:41

People who fail to indicate when driving.
Anyone who puts every last detail of their lives on social media.
People who think it's okay to buy vapes for their teenage children (I've seen this happen), or refuse to acknowledge their failure to instill boundaries with their children but are then surprised to be told about their offsprings behaviour at school.
Finally, I am a responsible dog owner, but anyone who fails to pick up their dog poo. It drives me up the wall.

There has been a real push recently about his music - I hear it a lot more on the radio. I get that it’s good and it’s entwined with people’s memories.

I had a conversation with a British man who was black and he explained how important MJ was to him and that he wouldn’t stop listening to his music. I then asked him if he would let his son sleepovers with MJ and he couldn’t answer.

Perplexed20 · 06/02/2026 20:50

People who use the word woke
Reform voters
People who say Brexit would be good if only we had a proper brexit/politicians thwarted it etc. Or still believe its good despite the evidence.
Anti Vaxxers.
Trump fans
People who believe Matther Goodwin as a proponent of free speech (he blocks people who disagree with him).
People who want to bring back the death penalty.
Those that want a US style health system.
Racist people.

Underthinker · 06/02/2026 21:00

Mathew Goodwin?
Blocking someone on social media isn't really relevant to free speech. Free speech advocates want people to be able to have their say to those who choose to listen, not for everyone to have to listen to everyone.

It's an emoji. If emojis offend you, I'm not sure the internet is for you.

Gosh, what an incredibly cool, edgy, and original thing to say.

Bet you gave yourself a pat on the back, and slapped your thigh real hard after saying that, at how incredibly witty that comment was.

You go gurrrrl! 👏

AnnieLummox · 06/02/2026 21:14

People who refuse to learn. Yes, I’m looking at you, MNers who come on here to say “He was a useless, inattentive father with the first two, but he promised me it would be different with our third - but it isn’t 😢😢” - as if you needed to be Nostra sodding Damus to predict this.

Anyone who says “off of”. Or “was” instead of “were”, or “them” instead of “those”.

Anyone who says “do your own research” when you ask them to prove a spurious claim. Erm, no - that’s not how it works. Why would I research YOUR claim?

Use of ridiculously hyperbolic language. No, you were not “humiliated” - it was a vaguely embarrassing moment. You were a bit upset, not “devastated”.

It's the internet, so I posted it, forgot about it and then probably watched some dog videos on TikTok or something, but if that mental picture makes you feel better, you keep believing it ❤️

selfishness pretty much sums it up for me… there is a proportion of society which appears not be unable to consider anyone else’s feelings beyond their own.

Genuine question… why don’t you think MJ sexually assaulted minors?

I’d recommend don’t waste your time with the MJ nonce - sorry ‘pdf’ (thought that was an adobe trademark) deniers, I mean you’d not pay these sort of sums if you had a clear conscience would you ?

1994 Settlement (Jordan Chandler Case): Jackson paid a settlement estimated at $23 million to $25 million to resolve a civil lawsuit with 13-year-old Jordan Chandler and his family. This included $15.3 million for a trust fund, $1.5 million to each parent, and $5 million for the family's lawyer.
1993/1994 Second Accuser (Maid's Son): Reports indicate a second settlement, estimated at $2 million, was paid to the son of a maid at Neverland Ranch who also accused Jackson of abuse.
Total Reported "Hush Money": Some reports and legal experts have suggested that, over his career, Jackson may have paid out up to $200 million in confidential "hush money" to various, sometimes undisclosed, accusers and their families to avoid public trials.
Posthumous Settlements: Even after his death, the estate has dealt with accusations, including a reported $2.5 million settlement in 2020-2021 related to the Cascio family, which was described as a pragmatic move by the estate to contain further reputational damage.
It is important to note that, in the 1994 settlement, Jackson admitted to "negligence" in allowing the child to stay with him but did not admit to sexual abuse.

Chinsupmeloves · 06/02/2026 21:34

I don't judge anyone to be an idiot unless I've got to know them properly.

If someone has a different opinion, says something outlandish, I would never think they're stupid. Rather, sit down, have a chat, get to know their mindset.

If i really had to say who I would i think was an idiot I would say those who have their own strong views, become so easily offended and don't/want to hear what has formed theirs.

Intelligence is also about humility and accepting and making the effort to process different views of the world.

Stupid is thinking you're right all the time, which is basically arrogance and an awful trait. Xx

Goodwin says people shouldn't be censored for what they say on social media, even hate speech. He then censors people on social media.
