Why can’t you sleep?

My body clock is wonky since coming back from a short break overseas.

I’m trying not to stress. Last night I took nytol but felt groggy today. I’m now in a quiet lounge with sleeping dogs. Have had a snack watching Netflix.

if you’re awake (in the UK) what are you up to? The days of feeding newborns are long gone for me - what’s happening in your house if you’re awake? 🙂

I'm enjoying the peace. Haven't actually gone to bed yet! I never get control of the TV remote but now I do. I'm about to go to bed though, hopefully my toddler isn't hogging my bed already (usually they are a middle of the night visitor).

Touty · 31/01/2026 01:30

Chronic insomnia started in my early forties a ten years later I still have it.

Aerodiabetes · 31/01/2026 01:31

Psoriasis driving me crazy. It’s so sore and itchy that I can’t help scratching 😭

Oh man that is horrible. Do you have anything to soothe your skin?

I’m guessing you’ve tried everything by now?

No creams work unfortunately.

☺️ thanks!

Where did you go on your short overseas trip?

DramaAlpaca · 31/01/2026 01:37

Classic night owl here. If I was allowed to start work at midday, finish at 8pm and go to bed at 3am my body clock would be happy. Sadly I have to fit in to the real world. I'm off to bed now because I have to, not because I want to.

In a previous life I had a horrible itching condition on my hands and feet. Made worse by Prosecco (!). That was bloody awful. You have my sympathy. I tried everything. I think it was pomphollx excema

Sleeping tablets are the only things that really work. Think it’s down to menopause.

MO0N · 31/01/2026 01:40

Another night owl here🦉

ACommonTreasuryForAll · 31/01/2026 01:40

Sinusitis making my head feel like exploding.

calpolandcuddles · 31/01/2026 01:41

We're all badly sleeping due to being quite poorly with our approximately 1 billionth bug of the winter so far. 🤒

If you take sleeping tablets do you feel the effects the next day?

😬 makes me nervous. Best not read the preppers board otherwise I'll do a stockpile order at 2am, and that's never wise

cantsleepwontsl33p · 31/01/2026 02:05

Oooh I haven’t thought about the peppers board in years.

I might head over to have a nose. (Now I’m safely back in the UK)
