True crime podcasts

Hoping I can get some recommendations..

I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts. Usually ones covering a particular case per episode or two.

I really enjoy true crime or interesting conspiracy documentaries.

Can anyone recommend any true crime podcasts series or one offs that cover just one case or event… like a deep dive over several episodes or one long episode?

Thanks!

Crime Junkie! The women who do it, Ashley Flowers and Britt, are such good speakers and they really do justice to the cases. Plus there are tons of episodes so if you like it, then that is your listening sorted for ages!

Serial got me started
casefile I listen to religiously
Kendall Rae

I can’t stand the ones with multiple people chatting in between that’s why I love casefile

There are hundreds but does anyone have any suggestions for ones without background music? It drives me insane as I use them to fall asleep to but any with music just makes me so tense and anxious I really fail to see how music in the background helps anyone, same with documentaries.

Casefile! No music no stupid chit chat no sound effects just a really compelling story and all the facts

Crime and Coffee couple. I love those guys.

The Boy in the Water. Awful case but really interesting.

I love Redhanded. I’m a bit obsessed.

Everythingwillbeokay · 31/01/2026 05:06

I am placemarking. I think BBC Crime Next Door is good but haven't listened to any others. I hate feeling ghoulish, but find them interesting.

Babyenroute · 31/01/2026 05:36

Redhanded

catslaveslim · 31/01/2026 05:55

Can’t believe none had recommend all killa no filla, (as far as I can see anyways lol) one of my favs and up there with the rest!

also Sue Perkins did a series about Carrie Jade which was very interesting, Carrie Jade does not exist.

The Red handed ladies have done a couple of spin offs, could not get behind the most recent as I found it very odd (Flesh and Code)! But the older one called Filthy Ritual was really interesting!

if you want softer listening with kids around the Edith Bowman and Iain Stirling do one on BBC called “Murder she wrote”

catslaveslim · 31/01/2026 06:04

Can’t edit my post above - but it’s Laura Whitmore with Iain, not Edith, oops

itsgettingweird · 31/01/2026 06:20

Have a look at bbc sounds true crime.

I’ve listened to loads of them that do a mini series and currently listening to strange but true.

I’ve also enjoyed

I need to go through this thread and write every single recommendation down. Something AI would be useful for.

Jumanji89 · 31/01/2026 07:59

That Chapter is one I really enjoy

Peonyperfection · 31/01/2026 08:01

These are a little older but Stalked and The Staircase on BBC sounds are good listens.

On Apple Podcasts, Kill List, Park Predators, Morbid and Crime Junkies are all good.

BlueEyedBogWitch · 31/01/2026 08:17

Fool’s Gold on BBC Sounds was a good one. Not about murder, which I liked, because it can feel a bit ghoulish at times. You almost forget these people have a family out there.

MIAMNER · 31/01/2026 08:18

Lady killers with Lucy Worsley, The mushroom cook, the missing campers & Criminal are my favourites.

Root of Evil, about a suspect in the Black Dahlia murder. Absolutely insane story.

Gofaster2023 · 31/01/2026 08:36

Morbid! Alaina is also a fiction writer - Butcher and the Wren series, although I haven't read thm yet. Grimm is good too and as mentioned above, Casefile is great. I love the presenter!

TraitorsLantern · 31/01/2026 08:42

Real Crime Profile often does multiple episodes on a case. And no chit chat after the brief intro.
