A pro Trump thread to balance the 154 anti Trump threads!

Thought I’d be brave and start a pro-Trump thread for a change, after all, there are so many anti-Trump ones , we need some balance!
I even tried commenting on an anti-Trump thread today… and wow, just kept being told to go away, my comments were not well received. Honestly, I feel honoured to feel as if I have been officially deported, what an achievement!😂

Yeah blame the doctors. Not the law that compels their behaviour. Such cowards being afraid of what the law says.

No one is lying about the availability of contraception so no idea where that is coming from (although Alito did say that Griswold and Obergfell were up for grabs too so stick around).

Anyway, I'm off . Couldn't be arsed arguing with ideological cruelty.

If they really believe the life of the mother is in danger, they shouldn’t hesitate: it’s very defensible.

But sometimes I suspect that the left likes to create martyrs, for emotional manipulation.

I would suggest you look beyond government propaganda.

Oh my goodness, haha, now that gave me a laugh.

Nothing more constructive to add?

Canada’s ‘merit-based immigration’ system
has been a failure.

Which is a shame, as I used to believe it was a better system than America’s

I asked AI (ChatGPT) to fact check No. 55. Cut overdose deaths by 21% over last year, with overdose deaths declining each month since President Trump took office.

Is the decline directly linked to Trump’s presidency?
CDC and public-health experts do not attribute the decline to a single policy or administration. Multiple factors — such as increased access to naloxone (an overdose-reversal drug), expanded addiction treatment, changes in the drug supply, and other public-health responses — are likely contributing to the trend. Experts also emphasize that the decline began before 2025 and is driven by many complex, overlapping influences

Tut, tut, playing fast and loose with the truth, knowing that people can fact check the statements.
... or maybe it was just wishful thinking.

I spun my mouse wheel blind to pick one at random. Landed here:

134-Announced the U.S. Space Command will be relocating to Huntsville, Alabama, creating 30,000 jobs and hundreds of billions of dollars in investment.

Factcheck, look up local guv news :

U.S. Space Command Headquarters is moving to Huntsville - City of Huntsville (huntsvilleal.gov)

Miles out. " About 1,400 USSPACECOM jobs will transition to Redstone Arsenal over the next five years. "

As for the HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLAH.. nope.

"Huntsville has invested heavily to ensure mission readiness, including:

  • $400+ million in completed transportation improvements, with $250+ million in active construction projects
  • $600 million in K–12 school enhancements to support growing families
  • $200+ million in healthcare expansions, including upgrades at Huntsville Hospital
  • Over $150 million invested in quality-of-life improvements: recreation and community complexes, parks and greenways"

I think the Whitehouse need a new calculator .

Edit to add, I don't use AI. Just the old fashioned way :-)

Unfortunately, the right seems to like to create dead bodies.

And you’re 100% wrong. There are absolutely states where doctors, and hospitals, reasonably fear severe legal penalties for providing life-saving reproductive care.

There are multiple examples of this. The laws are vague, and unclearly implemented, they are still being litigated. This is resulting in harm and even death to women and girls. It is easy to say that doctors should go ahead and provide care anyway, but when the risks are up to 99 years in prison, and they are under pressure from the hospitals by whom they employed that decision is far from simple.

Yes, across many, many posts as you know and have often ignored or replied to disingenuously.

But Ringo, I’m going to have to giggle at this one. I mean… please… 😂

Crikeyalmighty · 31/01/2026 17:43

I do think @RingoJuice you are somewhat missing the point as to how many people feel , ( including quite a few Republicans I know in the states and chat too in business) it’s personal, they don’t like Trump, the corruption, his particular methods, the childish comments ref everyone being losers, ( including people killed in tragic circumstances) mocking the disabled, up all night tweeting random accusative shit, ignoring demands to produce xyz etc , the fact he’s making the country a laughing stock internationally - they don’t necessarily disagree with the premise of sorting out too many undocumented migrants, nor in some cases tariffs and building up self reliance - but they uniformly think Trump is completely wrong on manner and methods!! And they all think he’s unwell too . They don’t like his team either but do think if they can’t be removed then best to be served out under ‘someone else’ -

CowTown · 31/01/2026 18:03

BoyHowdy · 31/01/2026 15:26

How about women pregnant with much wanted babies that experience complications? The baby cannot survive, but the woman dies unnecessarily, related to the hospitals’s inability to provide simple necessary reproductive care, by law.

This has already happened.

How about the young girls raped forced to go through with the pregnancy? I think from your earlier Epstein acceptance you’re not going to be too worried about this though…

Don’t worry, I’m not stupid enough to expect anything like compassion from you, but it’s good for other people to see again.

Agreed. It breaks my heart when planned pregnancies go wrong and doctors can only sit on their hands in US states where they are at risk of being struck off, or worse, imprisoned. Women lose their lives or their wombs because doctors cannot act until they are at death’s door. Madness.

Yeah, and we absolutely fucking know that Republican politicians will have been more than responsible for and benefitting from countless women’s abortions. And I’m sure still are.

Absolutely. It disproportionately affects women who don’t have resources. Wealthy women can fly to different states to get the treatment that they need. They have the resources for the travel cost and the ability to get time off of work (if they even work at all). The working class single mum who is juggling several jobs without paid annual leave won’t have those resources.

I find it so hard to believe that wealthy Republican daughters who find themselves pregnant in high school or university aren’t getting terminations.

logicisall · 31/01/2026 18:27

I would suggest you look beyond government propaganda.

Have you read and understood what the Canadian Gov't is doing, and their reasons for it? You can say that you don't agree with it (but I think that you actually do). The policy changes that Trudeau announced were targetted to address foreign students overstaying, too many temporary foreign workers and resulting housing shortages, while continuing to accept needed workers.

You are pretending that the October 2024 cuts to immigration targets never happened and the policy pre that date is still in force.

Edited

Does it mean moving Space command to Hunstville will attract hundreds of billions of investment from huge companies such such as the Eli Lilly and Company who is investing over $6 billion in a new, high-tech pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Huntsville. This was announced in late 2025 with construction beginning in 2026

I have to wonder if someone at the White House is actually trolling Trump with their content.

A pro Trump thread to balance the 154 anti Trump threads!
youreverybrave · 31/01/2026 19:03

Ok OP, I’ll wade in and say that on some things I am secretly cheering Trump on!

I am aware of how the media and tribalism works so I try to get my news from multiple sources, including sources I don’t agree with. It irritates me no end but it’s also interesting to discover the world really doesn’t work the way The Guardian or the Daily Mail wants you to think it works. Trump is also an expert troll and absolutely loves winding people up by saying extreme things. Not befitting of a world leader? Maybe not but it’s still a lot more entertaining than listening to the endlessly sanitised, PR’ed talk of most career politicians today.

There are lots of shades of grey and no one person can possibly be all the things the media tells you Trump is. He has done some great things for his country but he’s also done some things that to me at least are questionable. I keep an open mind but I definitely read multiple sources so I get the news from several angles.

AhBiscuits · 31/01/2026 19:06

@youreverybrave sorry I don’t vote or decide on someone’s ability based on the winding people up , amusement value - too much at stake for that and people’s safety, businesses, futures - I will take 10 mark carneys over a Trump .

I’s be happy to share my thoughts but then the ‘tribe’ would pick them apart and try to draw me into an argument (which I don’t want). My point was that too many people tend to get their media from just one source and that rarely gives anyone a fully rounded view of what’s happening in the world. I try to do that (as much as it pains me) so I can see that for millions of Americans, they can see a great deal of good. Many other millions can’t of course but I’m interested in both sides of the story.

I can see the good and the bad.

There is no good in Trump. He is a self serving ball of selfish spite

And bald assertion with no supporting facts are worthless. So be as smug as you like. Your nonsense is as delusional as Trump is.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 31/01/2026 21:58

youreverybrave, I would be seriously interested in what you see as the good in Trump from anyone's point of view, apart from that of very rich people getting even very richer through his policies (they obviously must think he's terrific, though why they need or want even more money, who can say). I know you don't want an argument, but in the absence of the OP coming back I am starved of positives about the man.

Is there anything he could do, in your view, that would be so bad it would rule out any of the good? I try to think of what would be the worst thing somebody could do, I’m thinking about things like child rape, and murder. What do you think?

I don’t think that anybody I know who is anti-Trump gets their news from just one source. I’d actually be surprised if many people at all get their news from one source these days.

The problem is more centred around algorithms and people’s lack of knowledge that what we all see is based on them. I do think that a large number of Trump supporters are uneducated and unable to think critically about why they’re seeing what they’re seeing, and its veracity.
