A pro Trump thread to balance the 154 anti Trump threads!

Carpediemtoday · 29/01/2026 17:46

Thought I’d be brave and start a pro-Trump thread for a change, after all, there are so many anti-Trump ones , we need some balance!
I even tried commenting on an anti-Trump thread today… and wow, just kept being told to go away, my comments were not well received. Honestly, I feel honoured to feel as if I have been officially deported, what an achievement!😂

I was asking which of the Project 25 recommendations the Trump government is implementing. Specifically on abortion rights as this is the balancing issue against keeping Title 9 and gender medicalisation of minors. I completely agree that the US is a mess but as I have said upthread the Democrats have not been helpful to women, specifically by failing to enshrine a right to abortion in federal law and also by failing to protect the female category under Title 9. Are the Republicans 'dismantling abortion protections under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), which require emergency departments that receive Medicare funds to deliver abortion care in cases of emergency treatment, even in states where abortion is banned.'? I don't know. It was a Heritage Foundation recommendation according to @Notonthestairs but is the Trump government enacting it? I think you have to be specific about this otherwise it is just a panicked amalgamation of everything that could possibly happen.

With abortion I actually thought the states would still do the "medical exception stuff" and not let women die.

I mean if Pretti had been arrested and jailed after the first clash with law enforcement, he’d still be alive.

Why stop there? Using your line of reasoning, we can go further back and say that if ICE had not been in Minneapolis masked and intimidating people, then Petti would not have gotten into an altercation with them, so would not have been shot and would have been alive today.

The Supreme Court overturned Roe versus Wade during Joe Biden's presidency and the case was brought by the State of Mississippi. You can argue that Trump 'packed' the Supreme Court during his first presidency but there was nothing to stop Biden adding new Justices during his presidency and there has been plenty of time for the Democrats to enshrine abortion rights in Federal law since Roe versus Wade but they never did so. Save at least some of your anger for the Democrats for whom this has never been important enough to actually take action.

It’s because every. single. Supreme. Court. Justice. said in their Senate confirmation hearings that Roe was settled precedent. Until they got on the court and overturned it. They lied.

Project 25 isn't the Trump government. It comes from The Heritage Foundation Think Tank. I am genuinely interested in which of the anove policy suggestions is currently being legislated by the Trump Government.

If you believe that, I've got another one for you. Think tanks don't have the ability to enforce policy or legislation. Just because the orange moron didn't write it doesn't mean it isn't blood on his hands.

And by not extending the ACA credits, this administration is sending insurance costs skyrocketing. Millions of people will be unable to afford any insurance at all. And guess who's most affected by that? Woman and children.

In addition, between the above, and the draconian abortion rights, they're creating reproductive health care deserts in many areas of the US. Making women with ectopic pregnancies wait for their tube to rupture. American women are living in Gilead, but, hey, Riley Gaines tied for fourth place instead of winning it outright, so all good. Fuck that.

Put 200 American women in a room and ask them how many have been personally affected by a trans person. Then ask them how many have been personally affected by being denied or unable to access or afford health care. I'll tell you straight off which is going to be a much bigger group.

So sick of this blinkered, blindered bullshit.

I agree that Democrats should have protected women’s rights to abortion from the Republicans.

The threat that the Republicans would roll back rights has been obvious for years.

Thanks for that link

From that site, this is exceptionally petty:

"Project 2025 Goal: Prohibit the use of public money to facilitate or support servicemembers’ access to abortion care.(p.104)

Trump Action: While federal law already restricts the military’s health insurance program (TRICARE) from covering abortion services, in January 2025, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth issued a memorandum rescinding Biden-era policies that had provided allowances for servicemembers and their dependents to travel and take time off to access abortion care. "

I remember it being in the news that it could affect readiness and national security. I found the report that led to that news. A 2022 Rand study, commissioned by the DOD. The PDF link is here :

If you think upholding the right of women to define themselves as adult human females as like 'making the trains run on time' perhaps you haven't grasped the existential threat trans ideology poses to women's rights.

I don't see how you can avoid childbirth if you're pregnant.

But you are right - in many places in the US you can't anymore.

I do like the fact that ICE is removing illegal immigration.

I don't like the extreme violence they use and the fact that legal US residents and US citizens get mixed up.

When you only focus on 'illegal immigration' you miss the totality of the immigration issue when even legal immigrants and asylum seekers are caught up in ICE nets.

Look beyond that narrow viewpoint, to the economic and social consequences of what a 1.6 birth rate (2024) means for the future of the USA when 2.1 is required. Some say that AI is the economic answer, but is it?

https://govfacts.org/long-term-challenges-future/demographic-changes/declining-birth-rates/us-birth-rate-hits-historic-low-what-it-means-for-americas-future/

Spain, with a similarly declining birth rate, has chosen to embrace the positives and recently announced an amnesty that will grant legal status to nearly 500,000 undocumented immigrants and asylum seekers, allowing them up to one year of legal residency and work permission, provided they do not have a criminal record.

US Birth Rate Hits Historic Low: What It Means for America's Future

The United States is experiencing a demographic shift that could reshape the nation’s future. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows America’s total fertility rate has plummeted to a historic low of 1.6 children per woman—well b...

A few people have mentioned health. The US department of justice is currently supporting a bill the Victims of Chemical or Surgical Mutilation Act (VCSMA) which will extend the Statute of Limitations for children harmed by gender medicine to 25 years giving detransitioners time to sue health care professionals who have harmed them. This is a genuinely useful bill. I'm not sure what stage it's at but look out for all the Democrats voting against it because the left is as deranged as the far right in the US and they are currently taking a position which in my opinion causes great harm to children and women's rights.

Automation and AI is going to decimate jobs and you want to bring in more workers?

Yeah, not working out so well in Canada. Doubt it will go any better in Spain with, what, 10% unemployment rate? Maybe worse?
