I am following the thread but not much involvement with commenting as my heads up my arse and now I’m full of this shitty cold 🙄

Evenstar · 29/01/2026 21:06

Sorry to hear your news @itsgettingweird 💐

LlttledrummergirI · 29/01/2026 22:05

@itsgettingweird I'm so sorry to hear your news. Please lean on us when you need a friend or two. We are all contactable by pm, and I am only a couple of hours away from you. Best wishes to you and yours.

Having been on the naughty step i feel that so much has happened over the last couple of days. It's not until you can't comment on issues that you realise how many there are.

Alexandra2001 · 30/01/2026 06:21

So sorry to read your shitty news @itsgettingweird and the lurgy on top, take care Flowers

😅Efacsen

I was just reading that NEC have a strong reason for blocking:

Burnham would have to walk out on a Combined Authority Mayoral job he was elected to less than two years, triggering by far the largest by-election in British history

Burnham has also done sweet FA about the mismanagement of public contracts by the Manchester Growth Company, he’s been informed of ethical malpractice in relation to redundancies (e.g. staff like Richard Jeffery making staff redundant at 35 weeks pregnant) and not acted on it ….how can an organisation deliver skills and employment contracts when they put people on benefits?? Andy is not your man

PickAChew · 30/01/2026 07:40

And the NEC have decided that Burnham shouldn't be the man for the job, anyhow, so the fine details of his record as mayor are moot (said as someone who lives near teesside the blueprint for a genuinely dodgy mayor)

Karistyleaftea · 30/01/2026 08:34

Thinking of you @itsgettingweird , take care of yourself as best you can at the moment.

Trump warns the UK against getting into business with China, saying it would be "very dangerous."

He seems to have forgotten he has agreed to visit Beijing in April and invited Chinese President Xi Jinping for a state visit later next year

Maybe he just couldn't resist the temptation to interfere/have his say?

Must say did a big eye-roll when I saw the headline

Has Farage responded? He surely must object to the UK being told what to do by another country?

DuncinToffee · 30/01/2026 09:11

Farage was busy in a different country and is now praising the UAE for their approach to 'law and order' He says that we can learn from them Hmm

The National Rebirth Party had their inaugural meeting in Leicester last week.

Take a closer look.

Well Farage won't like that - will he Smile

The thing is Yaxley-Lennon probably detests Farage for being woke (because anyone who doesn't support SYL is woke).

DuncinToffee · 30/01/2026 17:27

So far Reform have said: "He isn't welcome in the party" but they haven't rejected his support

To be fair, they need absolute bellends to vote for them, so that's SYLs tribe
