Newsom is on the money on that one.

Lalgarh · 26/01/2026 08:39

Is the next stage for ICE to start shooting local law enforcement. On that Dog killer Kristi Noem press conference she was blaming democrat run sanctuary states for not informing ICE when foreign criminals were finishing their prison sentences.

You could see how agents might get stationed outside a jail or police station if someone gets arrested and they want to grab and report Vs the police who want to process

DS(17) says there are ICE agents on Tiktok etc claiming they’re on $200K pa with bonuses and incentives. I am sure there are people who can be morally flexible to access earning potential they could normally only dream of.

Yes. And a $50k signing bonus. We’re talking sums of money that these men could only ever dream of. Plus they get the added bonus of being Billy Big Balls on the streets and playing out the shooting scenes from Grand Theft Auto. Win win.

I was wondering about the cost last week.

I saw a thing about protests outside the hotel ICE were staying at. There was 2k ICE then, now it's 3k. It appears all from out of state ? High wages, probably being paid 24/7 when away, hotels, flights, food, expenses, vehicle hire ( or new), tear gas by the shipping container, pepper spray by the tanker. And guns, lots of guns.

Then today I saw a bit on the CNN feed. DHS claims thousands of people detained in Minnesota. The local cops say a few hundred. And remember, about 48% of people who ICE detain are already in jail, with deportation orders.

Imagine the accountants working all that out on a cost per deportation.

And for what ? Because apart from convicts already in jail, they are picking up people who are working, paying tax, not able to claim benefits.

Yeah, cost don't matter when it comes to MAGA voters feeling good that they are not at the bottom of the pile.

There’s also the time/cost of processing all of the false arrests—the Native Americans (eye roll) and just about anyone who is brown or has an accent. Some are even being shipped to other states before being repatriated back home. All at a cost. I also read that each arrest counts toward their quotas, regardless of whether it was a legitimate illegal immigrant. There is a financial motivation to arrest citizens and legal immigrants.

I don’t believe the ICE /Border Control are per se fantasists looking to cosplay their dreams of being The Man. You only have to read Christopher Browning’s book “Ordinary Men”, about the regular German police officers who were responsible for thousands of murders of Jewish people in the build up to, and during WWII to see that “regular” people are very easily sucked in to committing these crimes.

”Browning argues that most of the men of RPB 101 were not fanatical Nazis but, rather, ordinary middle-aged, working-class men who committed these atrocities out of a mixture of motives, including the group dynamics of conformity, deference to authority, role adaptation, and the altering of moral norms to justify their actions. Very quickly three groups emerged within the battalion: a core of eager killers, a plurality who carried out their duties reliably but without initiative, and a small minority who evaded participation in the acts of killing without diminishing the murderous efficiency of the battalion whatsoever.”

What is it they say about history repeating….

Latest theory on what triggered the first murderer to start shooting.
The man in grey grabbed his gun and walked away with it. Another, not realising, can be heard to say 'where's the gun?'. This caused one of the brain dead goons to worry Alex had it so shot him point blank in the back. Everyone jumps back, they probably aren't sure who fired. Another of them, who probably wasn't in possession of their shared brain cell at that moment, put another 9 rounds into him to be on the safe side.

Then why the official ICE recruitment advertisement videos using images based on the “Halo” video game? 🧐

CaveMum · 26/01/2026 10:40

@YankTank I’m not saying that there aren’t psychos/weirdos/etc in ICE, I’m certain that there are. More that I am saying we often like to assume that most people aren’t like that, but history shows us that all too often there are plenty of people who are happy to just go along with it, with a small minority actively enjoying it.

Agreed. I’m only pointing out that the particular set of recruitment videos is deliberately going after a specific subset of the population.

He claimed it was standard Border Control attire after Gavin Newsom accused him of dressing up as though he had bought SS garb on EBay

I watched The Zone of Interest last night and he certainly has vibes of Rudolph Höss.

ICE have been recruiting at Car racing tracks, gun clubs and through social media groups where they can be pretty sure what demographic they are hiring.

And all the while the media are totally ignoring around 50,000 murders by the Iranian government in the last few weeks.

Not a single story on the BBC for the last two days
but wall to wall Minnesota

its almost as if we are being given a squirrel to watch

RedTagAlan · 26/01/2026 11:45

In other news, Uncle Xi has purged his top General. Nobody knows why as usual. Paranoia ? Show of power ? Not resolute enough on the Taiwan invasion?

I bet this is a problem for Whitehouse staff. Stuff like this should be in his daily intel I would have thought. But I bet they won't want to tell him. Cos the child he is, Trump will want to do the same.

A question yelled at a press gaggle would be good. I reckon a question on Xi purging would make the pricks ears prick.

Anyhow, I would bet Trump would want to sack someone, cos HE won't want to be outdone.

Watch this space. I predict someone ICE connected. The Hoss wanabe ?

I fairness, the perception of Iran at least in the West is "despotic regime". While America is supposed to be a beacon on a hill. Despotic regime kills protesters is less of a headline than leader of the free world kills.protesters. it might also be because we feel less connection with the Iranian victims. Which is wrong.
It's horrendous, and it should be being reported more though.

The Rest is History are covering the Iranian revolution and how the US could not have fucked it up more if it had set out to.

Given we are almost 50 years on, the case that it is the most consequential revolution of the 20th century (and yes, that does include Russia), then it's curious how little we study it.

The political ramifications of shi'a Islam have been overlooked in the Western narrative.

Probably because the terror attacks are by Sunni.
