Just for the record: in the 1960s in England you could be charged with carrying an offensive weapon if you were arrested on a demonstration and had more than six copper coins in your pocket or were carrying a pocket comb, even a plastic one.

I'm not sure whether the police would have said you were armed, though, and for sure they wouldn't have shot you, because they were not trigger-happy goons carrying guns and wearing face-masks.

It's the 'except for USA' bit that makes it like an forced apology, meaningless.

So about 7 ICE had a guy on the deck, presumably face down, and presumably they will say he tried to pull a gun.

Face down, officers piled on, while the victim wearing about 8 layers of clothing against the cold, managed to pull a gun.

And ICE now have the gun, unbagged, on the front seat of what appears to be an ICE vehicle. The gun being cleared and slide back.

Straight away, the scene is contaminated. And the first thing was to send a photo of said gun to their bosses.

Yeah.

Finger prints to be added later no doubt.

O’Hara told his officers to remain on site as part of standard protocol to preserve evidence after a shooting.

I think of them as "LICE" because of one particular photo in which that appeared to be what it said on one of them's front. They habitually impersonate police officers....

Minnesota officials holding a press conference. Asking ICE behave or get out as it's undermining law enforcement.

I'm unsure how ICE interplay with local plod. Would ICE as part of Homeland Security takes precedence over local cops as the FBI would?

Not to investigate crime. They only have partial police powers.

I thinks that's why the FBI were told to investigate the Renee Good shooting. Incidentally, CNN reports some of the fed prosecutors are resigning over it.

More details of the shooting are emerging at a press conference being held now.
The Minneapolis police chief Brian O'Hara says officers attended the scene of the shooting involving federal agents to find a min with multiple gunshot wounds.
He confirms the man has died and based on "very limited information" is believed to be a 37-year-old white man who was a Minneapolis resident and a US citizen.
Mr O'Hara says police have given multiple warnings for the crowd gathered at the scene to disperse and urges people to leave the area.

Also worth noting. It's a permit to carry State. So with a permit, it is ok to carry a gun.
