Nah. The MAGA ex- and current military will all buy in to his "It was all US, WE are the heroes!". It's just the 21st century version of "The US won WWII and Korea", which is basically what I was taught in school in the '60s/early '70s. Very little mention of any other country's contributions other than saying they 'helped' the US win, and absolutely NO mention of Russia's contribution to WWII at all as it was the height of the 'Red Scare'. The US is damned good at revisionist history.

DH did a tour in Afghanistan in 2014. Our DD was 10 weeks old when he left and it was hands down the toughest and most stressful period of my life.

He also did a tour of Iraq in 2005.

DH’s brother was a RMR, he saw two friends blown up by an RPG in Helmand. He came back with severely damaged hearing (lack of the correct ear defenders) and had to be medically discharged. He’s had to wear hearing aids since the age of 30 as a result.

I treated one of the staff in my hospital who lost her young son in Afghanistan, she has not recovered from that till date! It made my blood boil when I heard what he said, I don’t even have any friends or family directly affected but who could forget the repartition of our young soldiers to Wooten Bassett!

I reckon what Trump, and a lot of the hawks, don't get is that what the CPC fear most is the Chinese people. Much of their political expansion is about food, and keeping the market shelves full. They don't want any shortages, because that could cause protests.

The Arctic they want access to is the Russian bit. The North East passage. And they do get that so long as they stay besties with Putin.

If he wants to call his own troops suckers and lowers, and they still choose to vote for him, attack civilians for him and do his service, that's up to them.

He doesn't get to insult our soldiers, our war dead and injured, or our honour as a country. Sentiments I feel are being replicated throughout all of the countries in NATO.

Our politicians need to send a strong message that until the fuckwit is gone, business is closed. He wants everything to be transactional, we stop transacting. We shut them out, close up the club.
