Every metric bar football. Victoria is the brains of that relationship.

That’s fair.

I think there is real pain in BB’s statement - it has the ring of truth.

I think it’s psychologically normal for someone to feel ‘safe’ to detach from parents when they marry. It’s not fair to say that Brooklyn ‘should’ have cut off his parents before he met his wife if it was so awful etc. 1) his parents’ behaviour towards his wife seems to be a significant factor; 2) being in a close relationship with someone who treats you differently from your own family can really shine a light on things; 3) he may be afraid of his parents and need support to stand up to them. He’s only gone for the nuclear option after trying other ways to detach.

I think there’s a lot of pain and hurt too.

Blinkingbother · 20/01/2026 08:32

The trouble with growing up on & in social media is that some unfortunately believe it’s a sensible location for them to play out their lives. It’s not. I’m not saying the parents are blameless but a dose of ‘real world’ would help this ridiculous & aimless manchild. He is only where he is because of who his parents are. Another talentless grifter who thinks they’re ‘owed’🙄.

It is a shame it won't be a good opportunity for everyone in the media to discuss the damage that celebrity parents do to their children by treating them as accessories of themselves and parading them like show ponies for the media.

Then they could turn the lens on the Influencer culture and all those z listers who have monetised their babies/kids and are using them online for likes & for cash.

We could have like a MeToo moment but for abused kids of celebrities and z listers and get it out in the open.

Lastly, maybe some laws could be passed to protect the privacy of children online until they are old enough to give consent.

Definitely think more Nepos will come out & say the same.
It’s not new either, lots of Hollywood kids estranged from their Momager. So much to unpack from Brooklyn’s statement…

I personally wouldn't be surprised if D and V divorce in the not so distant future.

I admit the same thought occurred to me. The marriage seems to have lasted to preserve The Brand and monetary value thereof. Brooklyn has now driven a coach and horses through The Brand.

Above all I feel a bit sad about it. I'm cracking on a bit and remember when he was born and how thrilled and excited they were, they were famous yes but young and in love with each other and then with their first baby. And now look at the state of things.

He seems to have put all his eggs in one basket though with his new family and ditching his birth family which isn't very wise. To be fair he doesn't seem blessed with the gift of wisdom. Hope his marriage lasts or he's going to be even more of a lost soul.

I've read his whole IG story statement

Assuming only 60% is factual and knowing how he and his siblings were/are used as high profile money makers by D and V over the years.....I'm Team Brooklyn, now.

Same. It seems they have used their kids mercilessly to create content. The family have no conscience and will go quite low to get money ( see David supporting the Qatar World Cup). I’m very much team BB - it’s not his fault he was brought up in such a dysfunctional family.

Blinkingbother · 20/01/2026 08:36

But by coming out with their sob story is it not just another way to grab attention & headlines when their lack of talent means they have nothing else left to flaunt/sell? I do agree that putting children on social media should be banned. The Aussie pre- 16 usage ban would also probably be healthy.

Downbythelac · 20/01/2026 08:43

I think Netflix, Oprah and Random House Publishing must be breaking down their doors for the ultimate tell all a la Harry and Meghan, especially that he says it’s only the tip of the iceberg and it’s generated this much interest.

The mother of one of my DD's close friends is a very successful accessories consultant designer who has worked for the Victoria Beckham brand for a long time. VB isn't the brains but the figurehead.

berlinbaby2025 · 20/01/2026 08:46

He was owed a loving and supportive family who knew how to maintain healthy boundaries. Didn’t quite work out like that, of course.

Totally agree. Reminds me of the data protection commission Ad in Ireland recently warning parents of the dangers of this. It is very well done and multiply the impact shown in this ad by a million for the Beckham kids no wonder he struggled with anxiety

What I love hate about reading posts like many on these threads from people who have no idea what it takes to cut off your own parents, is the assumption that people like him should be grateful to them that it is due to his parents that he is alive.

You clearly have no idea how often people like him wish with all their souls that they had never been born.

When Nepo babies go rogue. Everything there for them. money, education, contacts and yet they cant find their way. 1st world/1st class issue.

I have a feeling recollections may vary about what had gone on with Brooklyn, his wife and his parents. Whatever has happened, the whole thing should never have been played out on SM or the press.

I take from his post that it was potentially a last resort.
I feel sorry for him

Nanny0gg · 20/01/2026 08:54

JH0404 · 19/01/2026 21:43

I believe him, really feel for them both. Nicola has had to put up with horrible attacks on her character. And the bits about the wedding are awful, it brings out the worst in people. I remember at the time it was all over the press that VB was snubbed as she wasn’t wearing her wedding dress, very disappointing that it was the other way around. So sad that image managing has made them turn on their child.

How do we actually know which version is true?
