I don’t understand what he was on about with the last name business.

ALLEGEDLY the Beckham’s didn’t want Brooklyn hyphenating his name to Beckham-Peltz as they didn’t want the name Peltz associated with “Brand Beckham” due to the Peltz’s connection to Epstein (and Weinstein); they supposedly wanted him to sign a legal document to say he’d either drop Beckham completely or use Beckham only, not Peltz. Brooklyn allegedly felt this was not only disrespectful to his wife and in-laws but also his parents putting business / brand before family and them being controlling (his two other complaints).

Brooklyn allegedly also felt dropping the Beckham name would affect his career (thus the complaint about it affecting his wife and future kids) because while the Peltz’s are billionaires, it’s the Beckham name that’s higher profile where fame is concerned. It was allegedly this refusal that caused D&V to distance themselves from Brooklyn as they felt he was hurting their brand and allegedly the real reason Victoria opted out of making Nicola’s wedding dress (so as to not associate her fashion label with the Peltz name) which B&N took as a further kick in the teeth as they had gone out of their way to support her at her fashion shows (hence that particular complaint).

It’s an interesting rumour as it seems at the beginning of B&N’s relationship, everything was hunky dory, the Beckham’s and Peltz’s were socialising together but then something caused the Beckham’s to distance themselves (by Brooklyn’s own admission) and coincidentally, at the exact same time more and more was coming out about Epstein.

Supposedly it was D&V wanting to separate the Beckham and Peltz names that caused the whole Nicola (and the Peltz’s) aren’t blood, put the family and family business / brand first (hence that particular complaint).

I heard this rumour a while ago but didn’t really believe it until now but everything Brooklyn has said seems to fit; I also think it’s very interesting that he was quite detailed about all his gripes but then purposefully vague about the name one (possibly to avoid mentioning Epstein or having people wonder what they had against the Peltz name?).

While I’m sure D&V are toxic (no pun intended), I don’t think the Peltz’s are whiter than white either in my opinion.

Being interesting to see if anything comes of the Epstein connection.

I'm not loving it one bit, I think he is behaving appallingly, making a private disagreement so public. There are two sides to every story, he is telling one.

It’ll be interesting to see how/if they respond. If they’re taking on board what Brooklyn says about never mentioning him they won’t respond at all. If they’re prioritising Brand Beckham over everything then they’ll have to defend themselves. Saying that it’s not fair for him to tell them never to mention him in the media again and then slag his mother off so badly and not expect a response. But if they have any hope of a reconciliation they’d be best off biting their tongue.

I expect they’ll come out with a “we have always loved Brooklyn and continue to do so, our door will always be open and we are heartbroken he feels this way” type message.

I will always say that Megan and Harry were made media scapegoats to minimises peado Andrew’s headlines and the UK media fell for it.

Yes, but Harry and Brooklyn have gone on to marry fame hungry women, using their husbands family as their stepping stone to global fame and name recognition, who had heard of Nicola Peltz or Meghan Markle before they got together with the sons of two of the most recognizable family names ?

But I think he would make the same point as Harry - that when people are planting stories about you and feeding the media little tidbits from ‘sources’ you have little choice but to go public and call it out.

I don't know about Meghan, but I'm pretty sure Nicola could have used her wealth to engineer fame if she wanted it that badly. It's not like she needed money. Is there any chance at all that she and Brooklyn are actually just in love?

TBF BB hasn’t said anything for almost 4 years, states the pressure put on them was public and private and he sent in Summer a cease and desist letter legally, still the leaks and stories continued thought so he probably thought no option but to go nuclear. He seems quite soft/sensitive so they maybe weren’t expecting the bite back. He’s sided with his Wife and Marriage and fair play.

Agree with the poster on the other thread who said DB in the documentary comes across as not even liking VB.

The Beckham kids were never protected and used in the media to hide the cracks of the sham marriage.

I wonder if with both Brooklyn and Harry, their families had reservations about their choice of bride and both guys haven't gotten over it and have caused all these issues once they told their wives.

Can you imagine if everyone started posting on social media about all the shit that has gone on in their family? Two sides to everything and I'm pretty sure there is context to much of what he has said.

I don't think the press are the ones to blame. Both sides have courted publicity for a long time. They wouldn't be where they are today without it.

I'm done reading all these hot takes about "trends" and "bandwagons" from people who've never even had to consider cutting their parents off and have no idea at the pain involved, even when you know it's best for you, your spouse and current/future children.

I think Mumsnet has a significant number of women who protest a little too much about cutting contact with family, perhaps because they realise their kids are going to do it to them.
