“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America."

This is why he’s justified in taking Greenland - apparently. How is this giant man-child in charge of the free world?

To be fair for the last few decades the Americans have invaded and plundered multiple countries under the guise of preventing humanitarian crises, preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons etc etc. Ourselves and the Europeans have often been willing participants or cheered them on from the sidelines. There have been a few muted protests been not much.
Now they’ve finally gotten round to doing it to us. We can’t be surprised that no one really cares. If and when Trump takes Greenland, when he’s replaced in a few years time whether it’s by Kamala Harris or Gavin Newsome or whoever, they’re not giving it back

Do you think hes actually going to go in 3 years time? Do you remember what he tried ro pull off next time

News outlets are speculating that him dialling up ICE and now sending troops into Minnesota is all designed to provoke citizens into civil unrest. This will give him cause to invoke the Insurrection Act which allows him to not hold the midterm elections. I wouldn't put it past him to come up with things like this to stay in power as well.

He is extremely dangerous and is about to do with Greenland what Putin did with Ukraine. He is a meglamaniac who adds tariffs because other countries don't agree with his policies on taking over a Nato Country that does not need any interference, they are running quite well on their own without the USA moving in and taking what they want and putting in their own rules to benefit US. WTF.

I agree

And he did tell though for some reason it wasn't taken seriously (similar to Putin)

And while all eyes are on Trump Putin could not be happier

😂If nothing else, he's good entertainment value.

Don't worry about him. He'll be gone before long.

Yes he’s hilarious all really funny until it isn’t . He has paved the way for the next lunatic behind him who will have the confidence to go even further

what next ? Who next ?

Icecreamisthebest · 19/01/2026 18:45

Trump wants a war so that the midterm elections this year do not go ahead. Everything he is doing is inflammatory do that either ge gets more resources (and keeps the profits for himself) or someone stands up to him and he gets the war he wants and can declare all elections cancelled until there is peace.

Someone is behind this. That text is nothing like his usual tone or style of writing. I believe it was written for him. Someone is prepared to stop at nothing to prevent the mid terms going ahead. There will be more and more of this behaviour until someone snaps and attempts to take him on. I’m sure the no elections announcement is drafted and ready to go.

The collateral damage means nothing to him and his cronies

I actually think it’s really good that he’s managed to go from using crayons to being able to send a message like this in just a few months, or maybe someone did the texting for him and he’s not really giving himself full credit, after all didn’t he stop WW2, Korea, Vietnam etc too

Womaninhouse17 · 19/01/2026 18:52

He's having a tantrum because he didn't get his own way (in my part of the world, we'd call him mardy). And he was never bothered about peace.

Yup. And Greenland is nowhere near Russia. I also have no idea how China will manage to get an invasion fleet there undetected. It might be spotted in the Suez or Panama Canals.

It's the North East Arctic sea route China is interested in. China to Europe.

Greenland has rare earth minerals used in tech like smart phones, China has got a near monopoly on them, China has strategically built out the processing plants.

China's near monopoly on rare earth minerals

If the Arctic Ocean melts due to global warming shipping and submarine traffic will increase and the threat level from Russia and China.

I don't think Trump is doing himself any favours with his bizarre comments but strategically for the US it has been a long term goal to acquire Greenland.

No dread at all, it’s going to be expected.

Football supporters in America, what a combination for a peaceful event.

He gave a speech to the army generals on 30 September last year about his hopes of deploying the US military on US streets.

It's clearly something he – and the people behind him – have been planning for a while. He just needs the pretext.

“We should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military,” Trump said. He noted at another point: “We’re under invasion from within. No different than a foreign enemy but more difficult in many ways because they don’t wear uniforms.”

I wonder how well this plays with average Americans? Are they happy to pay tariffs so that Trump can take over a country that was barely on their or Trump's radar a few months ago? Do they want to be sent over there to take it by force? If Trump has no more interest in peace, who will be sent home in a body bag?

Lonelycrab · 19/01/2026 18:56

Interesting video and commentary about where all this is leading, and reaction across the world and EU to these events.

Particularly alarming was the part to do with French and Ukrainian govts feeding back to the US wrt to strategic locations within Ukraine.

Except these strategic locations were false, to test if that information would make it to Putin via the US govt.

It did (surprise surprise) and Russia attacked those false locations. Go figure. This should blow my mind but I’m not actually surprised.

He was probably behind the peace treaty between the Federation and the Klingons too.

The whole Greenland thing is unreal. He said it was because he doesn't want Russia too close and yet there is only about 55 miles between the two mainlands, plus there is already an agreement allowing the US to put as many bases/troops on Greenland as they want, so what it is about if not security ?

Oil and rare minerals....

In theory the rest of the world should tell trump to shove it and not go to the world cup. But it's men and football.... and we know that even wife beaters get a free pass so long as theyre good footballers...so they'll still want the world Cup to go ahead. As a secondary benefit it would also have sent a message to that fifa sycophant Infantino (?) that sucking up to a pdfile isnt the way forward.
Trump is a narcissistic psychopathic dangerous loon, sadly many of those around him overlook his crazy because they're financially benefitting from him and /or he is allowing them to see out their rascist kkk policies...see Stephen millar for reference.

He is desperate, he is up to his fat blubbery neck in the epstein files, so he will do ANYTHING to deflect from it.

"How did the Dems not manage to defeat him?" By fucking up big time. Sticking with Biden long after it was clear he wasn't up to the job, then anointing Harris without putting that to the vote. Harris was demonstrably not up to the job either.

As the incumbent party, they could not deny responsibility for the last five years of anything the electorate are not happy about. As the non-incumbent, Trump could talk any old shite, make any promises, he wanted to.

Had they sorted out potential runners for the job and voted on it in advance, had a new not-Biden presidential candidate ready to go, I doubt Trump would have got in.

Trouble is, both the Dems and the Reps have been neglectful, there's really nobody coming up through the ranks looking like potential leaders. (A bit like here in the UK, sadly.)

Except for the year that happened when they were not the incumbent party at all; elections in the USA are every four years, not every five. And it is entirely possible for the President to be of one party and the majority in Congress or the Senate or both to be of the other, as happened to Obama after the mid-terms, or George HW Bush in the second half of his second term.

Serpentstooth · 19/01/2026 20:37

Looking forward to his overseeing the World Cup matches and correcting referee decisions, appointing winners because he likes one country better than another, sliming up to players wives and making inappropriate comments and having a general ego fest. I believe his pussy grabbing days are behind him but who knows? If he hasn't started a war beforehand he may well provoke one or two before it's over.

Paul2023 · 19/01/2026 20:45

Out of 360 million Americans, could they not have found another candidate? Someone sensible and more in the centre of politics

What about the likes of George Bush Snr for example ? Can’t they have Presidents like him again ?

HRTQueen · 19/01/2026 21:05

I think the US can aim higher than having a president like George Bush Snr

Barack Obama was by far the best president they had for a number of years and sadly no surprise that he was at times unpopular (though this isn’t likely to do with just him being a Democrat)

How pathetic to even try to argue this. The only people to blame for voting for Trump are the people who voted for Trump. Nobody made anyone vote for him, it was 100% free choice.

People dont want the dems, its similar in this country, Labour will be out in a trice despite what the Tories caused. Look at brexit for goodness sake

Another poster earlier questioning democracy got it right. I often say that on these threads and people are in uproar, but look where democracy gets us, brexit and this lunatic.

Go the people!

That's nearly as 🦇💩as Trump. Certainly deluded.

Fuck right off with that.

Yeah, if the fact that Riley Gaines tied for 4th place with a trans person instead of winning 4th place was enough to tip you into voting for Trump, then fuck you.

And I'm American.
