So Farage said he wouldn't be unveiling Jenrick at 4.30pm today. Not long after, was it?

I think there has been a lot of listening to Barbara Streisand recently

I'm surprised that Jenrick has gone to Reform. His desire to be the top dog has been obvious for a long time. There's no way Farage is going to let that happen.

I'm also surprised that Reform have taken Jenrick. The more Tories they keep taking in, the more it's going to dilute the Reform brand.

Still, it's good news for everyone else. A win-win I'd say.

Maybe Jenrick is earmarked for a place in the Lords ?

Jason118 · 15/01/2026 17:47

it would have been so much easier if Mr Farage had just joined the Conservative Party and insisted on a party name change. It’ll take ages for all the Tory parasites to move over at this rate.

MsJinks · 15/01/2026 17:48

Farage stating a well known Labour figure is joining Reform next week.
They’ve already had a Green councillor join them.
Moves to Reform close on 7 May apparently though so 🙈

This i think, is deflection, might be wrong but the timing is all a bit convenient, can't too many in Labour happy to be in Reform... maybe its Jeremy Corbyn?

Like a misquoted Groucho Marx, Farage will not be a member of any club that can kick him out.

Indeed.

Any bets who the well known Labour "figure" will be? Can't be a sitting MP, as I am sure he would have said so.

Edited

Was it "figure", not "MP" ?

All of a sudden expectations are lowered.

Although I have to admit I am struggling to think of too many Labour figures who are a PITA as a right wing agitator. Left wing, yes. But otherwise I can only think of Lee Anderson. And that hurts. Having to type "Lee Anderson" and "thinks" in the same sentence.

PandoraSocks · 15/01/2026 18:02

George Galloway? Not currently Labour ofc, but he's got a few things in common with Farage.

George Galloway was hardly a right wing PITA to Labour.

He has some really odd ideas these days. I wouldn't rule anything out.

PandoraSocks · 15/01/2026 18:09

Russell Brand?

MsJinks · 15/01/2026 18:11

He said figure, didn’t say Mp. He said it at the welcome Honest Bob presser. Maybe it’s like when you hear ‘well loved soap actor’ and even the biggest fans have to go and google 🤷🏼‍♀️
I think 30p Lee did a slow slide from labour to reform - I thought Galloway cat was independent now?
I can’t imagine jumping from Labour to Reform - it baffles me when people change their voting that way as they have ‘no choice’ - well there’s a lot of choice actually including never voting again.
I can’t think of anyone but do think it’s happening. He likes his cliff hanger statements.

PandoraSocks · 15/01/2026 18:14

Maybe it is a Labour councillor who is well known in their local area or something like that? Or a well known own celeb Labour member?

PandoraSocks · 15/01/2026 18:20

Kate Hoey could be a contender.

Karistyleaftea · 15/01/2026 18:23

Not easy to guess when truth seems to have gone away on an extended sabbatical.
IMO.

Kate Hoey could be a contender.

Yes, she's been close to Farage on a lot of things. My personal favourite was when she desperately argued to a High Court that the withdrawal agreement breached the Act of Settlement and the judge agreed with her, saying !What did you expect you ghastly woman, parliament is supreme".

Efacsen · 15/01/2026 18:27

Hoey left the LP in 2020
