We're sitting under duvets to give the heating a break!

17.5 degrees, which is at temperature, so the heating is currently off (but thermostat will switch it on again if it falls below 17). We're all lovely and warm (although we always dress appropriately for the season, so wear slippers and a jumper in winter).

WarriorN · 05/01/2026 18:41

Didn’t manage over 16 in the main area today! With heating on 🤔 Walked around with a hot water bottle down the back of my trousers

Cocomelon67 · 05/01/2026 18:43

18 degrees but also have electric blanket in and under the duvet!

19C - but lower when the retriever isn’t here.

Edited

I mean lower when the retriever is here.

redhit · 05/01/2026 19:36

18.5 and it’s freezing
I’m in bed wearing a jumper and joggers!

TokyoSushi · 05/01/2026 19:36

Hive says 21.6, just come back from yoga and my car says it’s -4 (Cheshire) it feels like it too! So it’s lovely in here!

Not stopped DS(15) walking up to McDonald’s with his mates 🥶

Hallpast · 05/01/2026 19:36
  1. But only on downstairs. Upstairs the thermostat is off. It’s on 24/7 like this at the moment as DH is sick
abracadabra1980 · 05/01/2026 19:37

21* - I'm hypothyroid and feel the cold really easily.

BoxingHare · 05/01/2026 19:38

Living room is just nudging 20. Parts of the kitchen are 15.

Heating going full pelt.

StuntNun · 05/01/2026 19:38

18.3⁰C but it's supposed to be 18.5⁰C at this time of the evening so hopefully it will warm up a little more before the thermostat switches down to 16⁰C for the night.

HashtagShitShop · 05/01/2026 19:38

19.3. The heatings been on 8 till 6 to get that far too. It's currently minus 2 outside

Contrarymary30 · 05/01/2026 19:38

21 . I don't know how people cope with it less than 19 .

RedRiverShore6 · 05/01/2026 19:39

Lounge diner where I am is 21, rest of house apart from kitchen is about 18, kitchen is about 16.

greenspaces03 · 05/01/2026 19:40

25c

RedRiverShore6 · 05/01/2026 19:40

If I put the thermostat to 30 it still wouldn't be any hotter.

zoomzoomzoomz · 05/01/2026 19:41

Been around 18 today, it's set at 20 but struggles to get up to that when it's so cold. It's -6 outside currently and I've had to defrost the boiler pipe that leads outside twice today because every time it freezes the boiler cuts out, whoever decided to fit it that way obviously wasn't the brightest.

Didntask · 05/01/2026 19:42

21ish in most of the house, but the logburner is on in the sitting room so its about 26 in there. Toasty.

Higglea · 05/01/2026 19:43

Hallway, kitchen diner, bathroom 13.5 (central heating not on) upstairs is a bit warmer maybe 16, living room where we are is hotter than the sun (log burner). Will need to open the living room door soon…

Goneback2school · 05/01/2026 19:43

Thermostat set to 20 during the day so probably 19/20 in most rooms. The office is always the warmest and usually reads 23c. I'm in the car though at DS's training so it's 0c

cramptramp · 05/01/2026 19:44
  1. I’m boiling.
bryceQ · 05/01/2026 19:47

Always warm, first floor flat. Rarely drops below 20. Flick heating on for 30 mins thats enough. Very fortunate.

BuddhaAtSea · 05/01/2026 19:59

I like my house warm. It’s 21 now but I set it to 22 just now, so I can have a bath and change into pyjamas without being cold.
It’s got swanky insulation, so it never goes below 18, even with no heating on.

Doesn’t it get damp if it’s 14-16 degrees in your homes?

PrincessSakura · 05/01/2026 20:09

17.5 and I’m absolutely frozen! It hurts to move 🥶

Fluffy40 · 05/01/2026 20:13

21.5 in the main room.
