I must confess to being puzzled as to how surgically removing and putting on trial an illegitimate dictator who has systemically oppressed his own people and is engaged in international drug smuggling on an epic scale is “straight out of Putin’s playbook”. Not least as Maduro was one of Putin’s closest allies, not to mention Xi and Khameini with inextricable military and economic links with them all.

I’m not sure he was saying that. I think he was saying that Maduro was a dictator and that he backed the Venezuelan people and wished for, and supported, a change to democracy for the country.

He was still a hopeless incompetent, mind.

I think he meant he’d act whereas Trump was pro Maduro.
