What is everyone’s New Years Eve plans?

Just curious how everyone plans to bring in the new year? For me, we will probably go a nice walk tomorrow afternoon, visit some family (I have an Aunt that has a New Year’s Day bday and I need to give her her gift), and then plan to be back home nice and early and have a nice, fancier dinner with DH and 3 DC’s. Will then get youngest DC to bed but let the two eldest stay up late. DH and I will have some drinks and then we’ll go to bed shortly after midnight. 2025 has been a tough year for us. Hoping 2026 is better. What is everyone else planning?

We’ll be having an early night as we’re off to Spain at 6am on Jan 1st! Can’t wait (though it’s going to rain it will be warmer than Glasgow and a nice break!

First year I haven’t had any plans whatsoever and I’m pleased to not have the pressure or expense.
About to go for a walk in the sun, maybe a workout, eat leftover roast (from yesterday not Christmas), maybe read a book or do some painting, have some hot chocolate, perhaps pay for a good movie, think about next year. Then probably get woken up at 1am when my boyfriend gets in from work!

But tomorrow I’m going ice skating, having a cosy drink and then doing a home murder solving game - anyone done a Cases and Clues game? They have good reviews so hopefully will be fun

DH has been into A&E twice this week and may near surgery this month. He's really not great, but adamant he wants to try and meet up friends tonight for a meal - luckily restaurant is only down the road and we can just walk and leave to bill paying (will reimburse later) if needs be. Meant to be going back to one of their houses afterwards, but neither of us have slept that well this week so will be too tired to stay up.

We’re not massive on New Years here but the kids have had burgers for tea ( their choice) and our youngest (4) is already asleep and her brother (9) will stay up with us a bit. DH and I are ordering some Chinese and I’ve got some Prosecco and we will be watching some Harry Potter and possibly the fireworks on TV if we make it that far. Though most likely ill be falling asleep way before midnight!

Bed at 10 as normal. New Year to me is an absolute non event.
