17degrees makes my nose cold, am I being a wuss? I’d probably have 19 degrees overnight…any views?

About 29 degrees but I wake up once or twice and blast the ac for a few minutes but don’t like it on constantly.

Eggcheese · 27/12/2025 01:26

Just gone to bed and set thermostat at 19c

Winterburn · 27/12/2025 01:27

I don’t know, but I don’t often put the heating on so I imagine it’s likely to be a lot lower than 17 degrees some nights. As long as I’m warm in the bed it’s fine. I love a cool room. In Finland when it’s -20 outside and we’ve had the log burner on in the living room, I’d open the bedroom window to get the cold air in 🩵 in fact, the Finns have got it sussed - they have extractors in the bedroom to suck out any hot air that’s seeped in from the burner in the living room 🤣👍🏻

Oneforallandallforone · 27/12/2025 01:33

I leave the window open all night, every night.

I don't think its cold but the DC complain that its freezing if they open the door to the bedroom in the morning time.

Zippideeblahblah · 27/12/2025 01:36

19 and sleep naked 😙

Why so hot? At that temperature I’d be mostly awake with nowt but a sheet….. wishing I was asleep! Maybe you live in a hot country? To keep it that hot in the UK must cost a fortune!

16-17c is optimal for me.

Yellowsubmarineunderthesea · 27/12/2025 01:40

Rarely have heating on in bedrooms & I open the curtains to keep it cool too so it's around 16° at night. Love the nights my dh is working as I open the window then too

mazedasamarchhare · 27/12/2025 01:40

14 Heating clicks on at 12 degrees, or 6:30 am. We have a 4poster bed though, the super thick curtains and the ‘ceiling’ of the bed provides excellent insulation, so it’s very snug, without the need for heavy blankets. We change the bed curtains in the summer for lightweight insect proof ones, so we can have the windows open. I don’t know why four posters fell out of favour, they’re very practical!

Topseyt123 · 27/12/2025 01:42

Ours is at around 18⁰. Window frequently open just a crack.

I’m guessing in Australia /across the world from UK

my room is around 16 at night if temp drops to 14 it will click on

Okiedokie123 · 27/12/2025 01:58

@Blondeshavemorefun presumably! I cook at anything over 25c.

TakeTheCuntingQuichePatricia · 27/12/2025 01:59

No idea. I dont have the heating on and my window is wide open. Im snuggled up though with a heated blanket over my feet, a weighted duvet over me and a feather duvet within reach. I love having a cold room but warm bed.

Friendlygingercat · 27/12/2025 02:09

I dont ever have the heating on in the bedroom as I find t too warm. However the heat drifts up from downstairs so its probably about 16 degrees. I sleep naked buit sometimes have to get up to go for a pee and feel it this weather.

17.5 normally or 18 if I’m unwell.

This. Window open, heat off.

I wouldn't sleep at all in 20+.

29?!? How can you sleep?!

Mabobsleigh · 27/12/2025 04:01

Thermostat set to 15

Thoseslippers · 27/12/2025 04:02

And I sleep naked and dont like the covers over my shoulders or feet. I have shut the window this month tho and probably won't leave it open all night again until April.
I hate being hot
If I forget to turn the heating down from 18 (which i have it on during the day from November) I will wake up because im too hot

bringonyourwreckingball · 27/12/2025 04:58

17 usually in winter - the radiator doesn’t work but I prefer a cold room anyway

clamshell24 · 27/12/2025 04:58

12-16

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 27/12/2025 05:29

I cannot sleep in a warm room so heating is off overnight, set to come on at 6 so it’s warm when we get up.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 27/12/2025 06:08

My thermostat is set to 13 overnight, and it never comes on, so no idea on actual temp.
I have the window wide every night, sleep naked, and use a 4 tog duvet year round. I hate being hot overnight.

Londonnight · 27/12/2025 06:47

No heating at all in my bedroom, I hate being hot overnight. Windows always open. Temperature is 13 c, but it does go lower at times.

Me too. It’s definitely cold, probably about 14C max but I’m in bed and lovely and warm. I absolutely loathe a warm bedroom

Daisymay8 · 27/12/2025 06:52

Varies, depends on outside temp -heating is off at 10 on at 7am
