What will happen if this were to happen

I'm not well, been told by Dr to phone ambulance go straight to hospital after he called me with my test results which was rushed through straight away.Ilm a single parent with no friends or family.I obviously didn't go it was my son's play the next day and had to get Xmas food and some presents as left to last minute due to my health problems.Does anyone know what would happen to my children if I have to stay at hospital which I think is inevitable as I feel myself getting worse?Someone please answer my post!

According to Google, the LA gets involved to provide temporary care if you have no family or friends who can do it.

Social services would have to provide emergency care, if possible I would ask your children’s friends parents if they can stay with them - explain the situation very clearly to them and I hope one of them will help you, hope you are feeling better soon OP

They will usually try to place the children with family or friends if there is any and suitable. If not an emergency foster placement.

How old are you children? Would they be able to cope and phone and ambulance is you get worse. Please look after you health and get checked out.

Thanks for the reply,my son has ASD and has just started having seizures since August and needs to be watched at all times he is 9 and don't sleep for days on end,would the hospital not let me keep them with me there if I feed them and looked after them myself?

They would speak to the LA and provide temporary foster care. This nearly happened to me when I had sepsis and my piece of shit ex H said whatever happens on my watch is my responsibility. My mum was unwell herself and my brother was in another part of the country. The doctors were horrified as ex only lived down the road and could have had my DS the two nights I was expected to remain. In the end my brother had to drive through the night and pick DS up so he didnt go into temporary care but it was touch and go at one point.

(ETA my ex is an abusive piece of crap and this was a way of controlling and upsetting me)

No this is not possible, i am not sure what your illness is but if you live in main city some NHS services have hospital avoidance teams however there is a limit to what can be provided at home, medically

It sounds like you are seriously ill. Think longer term, what would happen to your kids if you were no longer around?

Social services will find suitable temporary Foster care for the children.

Girl 14 but is also special needs son 9 with ASD,I fell down the stairs the other day lost my balance banged my head off cupboard yesterday lost my balance again.

No you won’t be able to have them in hospital with you. They won’t be allowed on the ward outside visiting hours. You need to get to hospital though, this sounds serious and you need to get well for your DCs.

My kids are ASD so they don't form friendships and parents struggling with their own child plus none of them even speak to me ever.

A friend of mine is a foster carers and regularly provides emergency temporary care for situations like this.
She, is honestly, the loveliest person (as is her husband) and they go all out to make the children’s stays as comfortable and as happy as possible.
Your children will be cared for, the sooner you get to hospital and get treated the quicker you will be back home.

They would go to temporary foster care. You should consider what would happen to them if you are not there at all though, because ignoring the GP telling you your results necessitate an ambulance to hospital in favour of a play and some shopping is quite risky. If your health is deemed at immediate risk you may not be around or able to care for them in the longer term. Get yourself to hospital as you are not protects by them by ignoring this.

Thank you for taking the time at this bust time of year to answer me I really appreciate more than you know,I will see what the 2nd specialists says on Tuesday,that's how I know it's serious 3 specialists appointments in just over 2 weeks can not be good.

So your GP told you to do to A&E days ago and you still haven’t been? For the sake of yourself and your kids you need to do as advised or you could be looking at worse issues than your kids being in foster care for a night!!
go on your local council website and there will be a number for emergency social care.

Social Service would provide a foster career.

Pur neighbour only provide emergency care for situations like yours and she is brillant. She is a former teacher. He husband has a job but helps out.

So this was about a week ago, and you haven’t done as you were advised. I understand it’s frightening but it sounds deadly serious, you could literally be dicing with death here. Call your local council social care (google the number), explain and they will have to fine emergency temporary foster care whilst you get sorted.

I'm just going to say I have my reasons why I won't put them in foster care or with social services, been there done that,don't want to go into details but it was awful,not even for a second never mind a few days.

If you don’t have anyone else to look after them you will have no choice but for them to go into emergency foster care. You are clearly very unwell or your dr wouldn’t have told you to go to hospital. The sooner you go hopefully the sooner you will get out and be back with thiem. It’ll only end up worse if you don’t go. Hope you’re better soon x

If you die now then you won’t ever see another Christmas play or buy presents again . It’s not worth postponing for these things this year. Go and get medical help. Social services will ensure your children are looked after.

Hopefully this is all temporary and your health will recover. Otherwise your children are at risk of seeing their mother collapse at Christmas and never spending bother day with her again.
