I am not a breakfast eater so nothing for me.
Everyone else is having smoked salmon bagels or avocado and bacon on toast.
DH is on breakfast duty!

Chipolatas in bake at home baguette and hash browns- can't manage a full cooked as roast duck at 3pm 😅

Berlinlover · 25/12/2025 10:39

I’m staying in a hotel and had a bowl of fruit, yogurt, smoked salmon and a cappuccino.

Sweetiedarling7 · 25/12/2025 10:41

I never eat before lunchtime now but previously always had a slice of my homemade christmas cake for breakfast after getting in from doing the horses.
That kept me going till christmas dinner in time for the Queen’s speech.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 25/12/2025 10:43

A bowl of shredded wheat bitesize, no different to any other day.

I have enough weight to lose without adding anymore by over eating today.

everywhereeverything1 · 25/12/2025 10:43

A Freddo and some quality street

GAJLY · 25/12/2025 11:04

Blueberry muffins, Belgium buns and croissants. Lazy style breakfast here. Saving my energy for cooking the dinner!

itsgettingweird · 25/12/2025 11:05

Me and DS (21) had crumpets! Mine were GF so although it doesn’t sound like a treat it is for me as a) I rarely eat breakfast and b) not GF stuff at the cost of it!!!!

Runnersandtoms · 25/12/2025 11:08

I made brioche pain perdu with raspberries and whipped cream. Except dd2 who doesn't like change and had her usual cereal lol.

ocool · 25/12/2025 11:11

Eggs benedict with avocado instead of bacon. It was delicious. Im abroad and had it out in a nice cafe in the sun. Dinner out at 7pm tonight.

smoked salmon and scrambled eggs

this is what we usually do but our grocery was out of smoked salmon! We used smoked mackerel instead. It didn’t have the visual appeal of salmon but was really very good.

Egglio · 25/12/2025 07:42

I'm going to have scrambled egg and smoked salmon. DP will have pork pie and crisps. We have wildly different tastes!

That made me laugh! Sounds like me and Mr Winter

WinterBerry40 · 25/12/2025 11:15

Didn't have anything to eat until around 10.30am ish.
Had 2 crumpets with Marmite as dinner will be around 4pm .

My great granny could never get her head around not cooking for ravenous, hard working farmers at Christmas. Everyone got a full English at 7am, roast around 2/3 and then she'd set out a massive sherry trifle and a full buffet in the evening. We used to invite extra people round just to soak up the food...

WinterFrogs · 25/12/2025 11:17

I am eating last night's leftovers (we Christmassed early)
Sliced apple, brie, radishes and ham 👌

Fgfgfg · 25/12/2025 11:19

Toast with rhubarb and strawberry jam.

RockingAmadeus · 25/12/2025 11:23

I had coffee with Baileys, Pan au Raisin and a Chocolate Twist fresh out the oven.

LittleJules59 · 25/12/2025 08:14

A Waitrose prawn sandwich and a bag of crisps was the best I managed to forage last night when I realised I was going to alone in someone else's flat. (Long story, but next year I'm faking a foreign holiday to avoid repeating this.)

I need the back story…

happy chrimbo xx

Natsku · 25/12/2025 11:25

Rice porridge, Finnish tradition. I'm off to the shop to buy more special milk so I can make another batch because we've finished it already but still got some of the quick strawberry jam I made with whole strawberries.

Doggymummar · 25/12/2025 11:35

We have lu ch at three, so nothing for us or there won't be room. Made that mistake too many times

AliasGrape · 25/12/2025 11:38

I used to faff around doing special breakfasts, smoked salmon on lightly toasted croissants with creamy scrambled egg, or would do the bake at home pastries with a huge selection of jams and spreads plus a fresh fruit salad, or make Nigellas Christmas morning muffins the day before and reheat in the morning.

Realised nobody else is in the least bit bothered, DD busy with presents, DH has always eaten too much the night before so doesn’t have anything till Christmas lunch where he eats too much again, my aunt who stays likes to performatively nibble on a bit of fruit saying ‘nothing for me’ until I’ve cleared everything away when she’ll say that perhaps she will just have a little bit of bacon after all.

So it’s every man for themselves now! DD had toast and some of the treats from her stocking, DH just lots of coffee (which we need after being woken at 5am!) and aunt has had her fruit. I’ve had about 6 cups of tea, a bit of the biscotti I baked the other day, a clementine and I’m about the start on the Buck’s Fizz.

awrbc81 · 25/12/2025 11:49

We had smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels this year, and Buck’s Fizz for the adults. I let my 15 year old DD have a very weak one and she said she liked it but I think she was pretending!

Purplecatshopaholic · 25/12/2025 11:51

Some banoffee pie and a mimosa. Heaven!

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 25/12/2025 13:20

Talkingtomyhouseplants · 25/12/2025 08:33

This sounds excellent!

Every year! Thick slice of ham, lots of mozzarella and then pop in the oven covered loosely in foil until the mozzarella melts.

Hosoan · 25/12/2025 13:22

Croissants and blackcurrant jam, orange juice, good coffee.
Followed at around 11 with stilton and crackers, pate and toast for those who want it
Nuts, chocs and crisps out and on the go.
Christmas dinner at around 4

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 25/12/2025 13:23

We're staying with my mum and her partner. Breakfast this morning was a slice of toast (me) and a bowl of muesli (Dh and DS2). DS1 didn't eat any breakfast and is now complaining that he's starving.

We were supposed to be eating lunch at 1.30pm but no sign of it so far.....
